Moonfog Records has set a September 6 release date for the new DARKTHRONE album, "Sardonic Wrath". The follow-up to last year's "Hate Them" features cover artwork by Lorenzo Mariani (MARDUK, ABORYM) and contains the following track listing:

I am expecting quite much from this album, the last year's Hate Them was amazing. The lenght, 26 minutes, is bit short for a full-lenght album. But who actually cares, if this album includes 26 minutes of excellent black metal?

Has anyone actually heard the album yet? Im assuming it has been already leaked out onto the net.

Yeah, it's decent. For darkthrone, good for black metal. By the way some of the best albums are better short. 26 min. is a great length.

Man where have you all been, thia album was leaked months ago. I would have to say its decent but nothing special, its rather typical old Darkthrone nothing really new or outstanding in the album. Not to say its bad but compared to their old stuff it doesn't stand out as anything to different.

We all know it was leaked out, there was a thread on it ages ago.

I have the Megadeth as well but whats the point in waiting, i listen now and if i enjoy the album then i will go out and buy it.

I'm scared it's going to be mediocre like everything they've done in 10+ years.

They need to make a follow-up to "A Blaze in the Northern Sky". That would make a lot of people VERY happy and it would cement them firmly attop the Black Metal legends category.

I have no doubt that this album is:

1.) Better than Hate Them
2.) Very, very black metal.

I'll just wait like everyone else should, and get it the first day it comes out.

ive seen new mayhem for $21 and new cannibal corpse for $17 (only bought the latter though, at that price) so once JB hifi lowers the price ill pick up a copy of sardonic wrath then
