Just wondering if the way you tremolo really matters, or if anyway is really considered correct/professional.

I do it by resting my pinky [little finger, whatever] on the body while just going at it. I find it more accurate, and, well, simpler.

However I look at the masterful musicians and they don't need this support, and they are far better at it anyway. In the end it comes out sounding the same, so...

Just wanting to know anyway. A direction to another thread if this has already been answered will do fine aswell.

Wammy bar style is just as deverse as picking styles. What ever feels right for you is what is important. Like you said, it all sounds the same, so who cares if you even use your dick to wammy as long as it sounds good and feels right to you.

Yeah, I think he is. I always tend to have the pinkie and sometimes the ring finger of my picking hand anchored on the bottom string for extra stability. Most of the time I don't notice what I'm doing because I'm concentrating on playing and therein lies the key: just do what's comfortable for you.

Oh, in that case, I do the same thing. I find lots of little pinky finger spots on my guitar just below my strings all the time and I wonder how they got there. I don't even realize that I'm doing it.

I kinda anchor my pinkie at the bridge else my hand starts flappin' around like hell and that is not comfortable.

When I tremelo pick, my pinky ring and middle fingure are sticking strait out. I never really noticed I did this until now. It works nice for me.

just make sure you do it from your wrist NOT your elbow, i do it from my elbow, but im starting to fuck my arm up and have to relearn to do it from my wrist

I rest my pinky on the body too somethimes, it feels right. When tremoloing it is improtant to move very fast and whatever is comfortable works.

Hey man, you're right, when i beggin to play guitar, i played with my elbow too, so, when i have to do tremolo picking in some fucking faster songs, like deeds of flesh songs, for example, i just can't finished the fucking song because my arms where fucked up already.
I just beggin to play with my wrist and things are lot better now, no problems for me anymore.

Well, it's tough at first when you suck still.

Another technique that is used is to rest your fingers (pinky and ring) inbetween (say high e and b) and (b and g) to mute unwanted string noise for the times you don't palm mute.

after reading BoC [if i may be so bold ] post about fucking his elbow up, ive been paranoid when i play...

so what exactly is the deal with that? do you like, wear away the cartlidge/bone in your elbow from grinding too much on it or what? i mean, i love playing, but i dont wanna fuck my arm up dude, thats scary

oh, and thanks all for the feedback to, i never had trouble with my tremolo, but just wanted to know if the way i anchor my pinky was like 'cheating' and that was answered, so great!

no idea, it jsut hurts after doing it for a while, i dont know if it does perment dammage or not, but if you trem pic for a while (a few minutes) you will know if you are using you elbow

yeah, well ive been really consious of it since then, but otherwise never really noticed it...

is this what you mean by using your elbow... tremelo video... cuz if so...fucking shit. the tune or whatever i'm playing doesn't have any direction...just messing around aimlessly. video is 10.71mb nothing big for broadbanders.
