Rare Form (Friend's Satanic Rap Project)
This is my friend's satanic rap project...and his excerpt from satanist.net about it...I just thought I'd take the liberty to bring it here *shrugs*
"I'm sure some of you already know what it is exactly I do.
I started this project a few years ago. It wasn't so much Satanically involved as it is now. The purpose of this project is to show that Satanism is not soloely limited to Black Metal.
It was also in response to Xtians beginning black metal, which, disturbs me, since they have Christian Rock, Gospel rap, and hwo every single R&B singer out there is busy singing about the warmth of a "God" that doesn't exist.
I made this project to do some justice to music, so that I could get on the radio, and spread my OWN personal message. One that tells TRUTH to Bible-spread lies, and deceit.
The magma rocks rain from the sky
The Earth will end in fire watch the genesis die
Terrestrial crucifixion, the mortals' last affliction
Desperation bringing forth a dogmatic dereliction
Infliction of pain, deadly diction to the slain in vain
A spoken name, confliction causing friction
Addiction to the wicked, auspiscious, yet pernicious
(Forboding a sinister outcome of Ecumenica's wishes)
-Exerpt from RARE FORM "Death To The World"
People all over have this misconception that the only reasons Satanists exist is because of the extreme metal scene. People associated KISS with the Devil, Black Sabbath, and most metal bands à l'epoque. And even still, yes the Devil was used as a tool for increasing popularity, now its' become stale.
People have associated ALL Satanists with "devil-worshipping, baby-eating, animal-killing barbarians", the stupid Xtian propaganda, using scare tactics to scare its' sheep and prevent them from leaving their beloved shephard. In reality, MODERN Satanism is quite different, and TRADITIONAL Satanism is more in tune with the old school.
The brutal metal scene and vain, scandalous rap scene have been deemed "socially inappropriate displays of human temptation." Rap portrays as much "sin" as metal does, if not more. Urban culture has been identified as a sick twisted orgy or fraternization through corruption, through fulfillment of animalistic desires with the use of objectification of the female of the species.
Getting back to my point, my purpose is to inform, to spread the same level of intense message as black metal through a different medium, a more widespread one that is more socially "pleasant" than black metal. (I personally find it very pleasant, others however beg to differ).
I'm sure it's been done before, as I am probably not the first to attempt "Satanic Rap" as I've called it.
I'm not going to call myself the official musical spokesperson for Satanism, nor am I going to misuse the brilliant words of LaVey. I would just like to give a Satanist's perspective in a world of music (and people) so fixated on faith in something unseen."
-(Sam) "Avei"
His demo, All Will Suffer, will be out this summer;
I have taken a listen to it, and even for me (who despises most rap)
I must say that it is well done, and he is talented at what he does

Although I am trying to be totally "neutral" in this point, I can't see how rap style of musical expression could be used to channel satanists' inner feelings? Metal music is often used because it is harsh, distorted, raw and filled with aggression. While rap is "chilling", relaxed or what-so-ever music, not fittable to such phenomenon as satanism is. Although there are some other musical genres which have bands that have succeedly made satanic theme music (ambient, noise, prog etc.) but rap is too far from this. It is just way too absurd to think that satanism would be associated with rap.

Lol, that is what I thought...
His rap is...raw, and harsh; It gives off that vibe you get from listening to any sort of dark music.
I guess everyone will see when the album is released :-\
Then I'll put an mp3 up

How rap could be raw and harsh if they actually just talk to the microphone and some stupid beat is on the background? Does he do raspy distorted vocals in the vein Antaeus? Or do they have some sort of distorted beat on the background? (how it even could be done?)

rap can be raw and harsh , look at Slipknot. and they're not just "talking" either. If you hear rappers actually talk, you'll find that their speaking voice is very different from their rapping voice, such as DMX
this sounds interesting, i'd like to hear it.

Ahahahaha, that last picture is hilarious. I can just imagine his "bling bling" as a diamond inverted cross.
Aside from the point of how horrid rap is, his mission to spread the word isn't going to work. They definatly wouldn't play such music on the radio.

SHS, why not read it? It's at the very least pretty correct grammatically (I can't remember seeing any errors, but it's been a little while since I read it), it's nicely structured, and it's not even 2 pages. It's easy reading.

Im sorry but this has been done so many times before, raw rapping, harsh sound, its called nu-metal
Maybe not so much in the satanic sense, though P.O.D took it to the other extreme by writing christian nu-metal

And how does Satan exist without "God"?
And it might not nesesarily be Nu-Metal, Purged, is it shit rap with just a Techno background? Or is it SLIGHTLY less shit rap with a band as background?
And whats with the corpsepaint?? corpsepaint is the Black Metal trademark, it has nothing to do with Satanism.

It sounds to me, as if your friend just likes the reactions he gets when he tells people he is a satanist... an attention whore.
Your Friend should read more about Anton LaVey, and the Satanist Bible. Also he should look into Aleister Crowley, and seventeenth (i think) century practitioner of Black Magic.
Hell, i know more about Satanism than your friend, and im an atheist

Bunch of guys calling themselves 'Gravediggaz' (yes, shit misspelling is intentional) did the dark rap thing years ago, & it's pretty fucking good. Well, at least, I like it. They've got a few albums I believe, but the only on I've heard is called 'Niggamortis' & it's fabulous.
Good luck to your friend, but like a good half of the people on this forum, I cannot be arsed reading your posting. Too hard.

Calm down you two,
sure CC is the gateway into DM, and sure there are better bands out there
but at least the bastards are consistent (well, pretty much anyway)
and from what i have read none of them are assholes like glen
personally, CC are not my favourite band, nor do i go out of my way to get at their stuff, but on the times i do listen i enjoy it
now get back to the damm topic, whatever it was!

fine then, the thread shold be ignored/closed, whichever works to stop the shit, random shit is for the RTT thats what its there for try to keep threads to the topic at hand (or something verry close)
and on the topic of satanism and rap, i dislike the concept of both, as rap pisses me off in general, as it sounds TOTALLY SHIT BEYOND ALL MEASURE, i would rather listen to black metal and pop (thats the order of hatred, rap/hip hop, then black metal, then pop, from most hated at the start)
and i dont like satanism because its pointless drivel as a way for money whores to appeal to the hip pocket of impressionable young goth wannabes, and we dont need either goths or satanism

How the fuck do Cannibal Corpse suck? They pretty much innovated a genre, while generally becoming the public face of it, all the while playing consistently good metal. Seriously, Cannibal Corpse aren't the best death metal band out there, they're probably not even in my top ten, but they've never released a bad album, and they've stayed remarkably consistent. They are a very heavy band with complex writing as well as never having released a bad album. Maybe some people pretend that Cannibal Corpse suck because they are not underground enough... If that's the case, it's fucking pathetic.

I'm really not trying to be rude with that guy, and I certainly don't mean to start a fight with him. I merely felt the need to point out several facts (as well as an opinion or two). I really wouldn't have even cared if he said Cannibal Corpse sucks, I just don't see where he gets off saying that somebody's opinion doesn't count just because they listen to that band. I hate Slipknot, but I don't automatically discredit the opinions of anybody who happens to listen to them. Musical tastes and a person's worth have nothing to do with one another and it annoys me when people imply otherwise.
I'd also like to point out that I don't think he's gay just because he listens to rap, but since that was just a retaliation for his belittling you, I see no reason to make a big deal out of we.
By the way, what do you think of The Wretched Spawn? I thought it was their best album since Gallery, maybe even better than that. Might as well PM me the response so as not to make this thread anymore off topic than it already has gotten.

My old friend Rick was real big into satanic rap. He listed probobly 20 artists off the top of his head...He tried to get me into this rapper called Dice but I was strong and just said NO. Then I got him into Morbid Angel. The Altars of Madness album that is...I remember playing it in my room and he's like "what the fuck is this"? And from then on he got more into death metal.

There are a few reasons:
1) Stupid gimmicky gore...
2) Boring, repetitive writing (they use the same drum beat and same guitar riffs over and over again.)
3) Hillariously bad lyrical content.
This is not to say they are a terrible band. They have talent. But to say that they are the best Death Metal group is a travesty. Most people start out with them untill they find better stuff. A good list:
- Suffocation
- Immolation
- Cryptopsy
- Autopsy
- Montsrosity (Check out the older stuff, Corpsegrinder was the vocalist)
- Death
- Incantation
- Decapitated
- Demigod
Funkier stuff:
- Lykathea Aflame
- Martyr
- Cynic
- Atheist
- Demilich
- Gorguts
I really suggest all CC fans to check some out. It really is a step up.

The reason I was demeaning him is because he called rap gay. He obviously knew nothing of the music genre, so that showed a great deal of ignorence.
I fought fire with fire.
Then, when I graciously listed some good rap artists, he went right ahead and insulted me. I have no reason to hold back... I have the right to attck his taste. That's why I attacked his taste.

I've been listening to most of the bands you listed for quite a while now, although I appreciate the effort. I'm also curious how you figure they "re-use" the same riffs and drum fills. The "Butchered at Birth" album had repetitive drum fills, that's the only time I can even imagine what you are talking about, and coming from somebody who is a huge fan of Cannibal Corpse (and therefore has most likely listened to them more often than you), I think I have a point. I see absolutely no evidence toward the repetitive riffery, especially considering that most of their early stuff differed greatly from album to album. The riffs on Eaten aren't very similar to the riffs on Butchered which in turn aren't close to the riffs on Tomb and so on... I can see that for sure Gallery, Bloodthirst, and Gore Obsessed sounded very similar, but on none of those albums are any riffs copied from earlier stuff or blatantly repeated.
If you have any good examples of either of those claims you made, I'd certainly like to hear them. As for the crappy gore lyrics, you are 100% right. I pay very little attention to lyrics, though, mostly because there are very FEW death metal bands that DON'T have awful lyrics. I simply avoid that situation by refusing to care. Still, you have a point there.
Personally, I can think of tons of bands I like more than Cannibal Corpse. I was just defending what they had done, as well as objecting that you had stated that somebody's opinion did not count merely because he was a Cannibal Corpse fan. Also, from what I saw, he simply said that rap sucks, without directing it at you, and you took it personally and insulted his tastes. Perhaps there were posts before that, but I didn't see them. I want to point out I'm not angry right now, or in mean spirit, I just felt like pointing that out because sometimes the way I word things I come off as VERY abrasive when really I'm not.

Yes, that is regrettably true. Some people (actually quite many) who doesn't understand something which they have heard/read/etc. ignore it and they just laught to the idea/thing and usually they annotate this thing by saying something stupid which is based on nothing (which is only in their momentarily opinion that, because they haven't thought it).

I don't wanna start turning this into an argument about why I dislike or why you like them... it's futile.
I simply attacked him because I felt I have the right to (as a fan of rap). When ignorence is shown as bltently as it was, I feel I should teach the offender after a good little tongue lashing.
The reason I really started at him is because he responded to a post in which I listed a few good rap artists with a stupid comment. The listing was to inform him and others, but instead, he called me a fag. That was poor judgement.
Anyways, hope that clears shit up.
