The wretched thing is here again
It wont get out alive
That horrid cat has come for more
I wont let it survive
Every night it comes along
Rips apart my trash
This time I am waiting
And I have set a trap
The cage positioned nicely
The lock I have prepared
A lump of meat inside
And now the cat is snared
I hear the hatch drop down
I rush out to the cage
The cat is trapped inside
In a fit of rage
I know what I must do
I cannot help myself
I take the cage inside
And sit it on the shelf
I leave it there for days
I watch the kitty starve
I watch its body thinning
Its weight has cut in half
Its hollow eyes stare sadly
Occasionally it cries
Sometimes it starts screaming
But still the time just flies
The cat is near its death
It's nearly reached demise
But I wont let it die yet
I want to hear more cries
I reach into the cage
The cat shrinks back in fear
I grab it round the neck
And pull it out of there
I bring it to the bench
It cannot get away
No use holding it down
It's too weak anyway
I wonder what to do
At first I can't decide
But then I see the knives
And I know what to try
I take one of the knives
And hold it on its side
The kitty stares on sadly
And then I make it cry
I twist the blade so quickly
The blood comes just like that
The kitty's side is gaping
It's such a pretty cat
I make it even nicer
More easy on the eyes
With such a simple movement
A simple flick of knives
For hours I work boldly
I never stop to rest
The cat's a cat no longer
It's just a bleeding mess
Is it still alive?
This shredded lump of meat?
Yes, I see it breathing!
It's tough, it can't be beat!
Blood loss should have killed it
Why didn't it die?
I see the heart, it's beating
Its lips emit a cry
Should I show some mercy?
Should I kill it now?
No, I couldn't do that
There's no way, no how!
I take a cloth and soak it
And clean the lacerations
I throw it in the cellar
It's had emancipation
I've spared it of its death
But was that really kind?
If it does recover
It will be shocked to find
Its flesh is mutilated
Covered in fresh scars
It'll likely never walk
Its life will not go far
The cat will be a freak
An outcast on it's own
At least this way I'll know
That I wont be alone

I don't know if I'd really go for this one. I don't agree with torturing animals or humans--except the ones I live with and my cooking is torturous enough for them. But anyways, your story flowed well as usual and it had a pins and needles effect. I didn't want to finish reading it but I wanted to see what you ended up doing. Actually I was hoping that once the cat was in the cellar it would transform into a tiger and when you heard it cry and opened the door, you'd be lunch. heehee

I dunno why I wrote this actually, since I have a cat which I'd never hurt if my life depended on it... Maybe there's some weird underlying anger towards it that came out when I wrote this. But I doubt it. My cat's cool. *shrugs*

That's cool. My son's cat drove me nuts when it was here , but when he moved out and we went on vacation I asked him to take him to his mom's house. I hope he's surviving alright, but I'm sure she's taking good care of him.

I write from different perspectives, too, although not as dark as you do, but sometimes little bits of the 'hidden self' or just images that are fun to share come out. Heck , I've written about a green peppers in a salad and being a pen in a couple of my last pieces written. And they sounded like 'love poems' !

You know, you're triggering my imagination, too.....and that's never a good thing....

I went back and reread the love poem since I know you're a girl now. And it was very nice from a female perspective, too. It's actually pretty flexible in wording so that makes it a little more marketable to either gender performing it.
And I explained in theother thread about the smooch so I won't bother repeating that. Sorry if I scared ya ! heehee But it was worse at my hangout. I described my 45 y.o. ass was in a thong. I scared people. I loved it.
