Here is my piece of shit kit. The paint on the wall says "School Is Dystopia". I used a really cheap crash and ride(both $15 each) and use them as a china.

More folkviking then vikingfolk
Their tour organiser bastard would make sure they would have a nice drumset to play on, but he delivered a totally thrashed set, all the skins were thrashed so they called me the day before the show if I could lent them my set...
Thanks, post a picture of your set.

Here are piccies of my newbie kit I've only had it for just over a month. It's a tama swingstar, and the hi hat and the cymbals came with the kit, so they're crummy. The hi hats are dinted because I was messing around with the kit and I hit them a wee bit too hard
The good thing is I didn't have to pay a cent for it, I beat it out of my parents by being a brat, hehehe

Eh, who says better gear will make me a better drummer? I'm a beginer, so better gear will just confuse me. I'd rather learn to use what I've got now. Also, who says that double kickers and more cymbals are necesary to play metal? *cough*BURZUM!*cough*

Burzum.... hahaha
Varg is SUCH a TALENTED drummer......
or how about darkthrone?
personaly it is best NOT to get double pedals to REALLY late, so you learn to use your individual foot correctly.

No but I am very stoned. And for the record how does my saying that make me stupid.
And you guys can take your 'baby steps' towards playing metal but I just jumped in head first and it's working fine for me. Everyone learns at different speeds and in different ways.

Here are 2 pics of my drumkit. I think it's the same as that other dude's, a Tama Swingstar.
Though it is upgraded with a Doublekickpedal, Remo skin for snare (WAY better sound, tightened it up like a bitch) and 2 cymbals. And I put a blanket in my bass as well.
What I still want (after my guitargear-I-need-to-buy) is a 20" instead of that 18" but I got that one for free from someone , a good hi-hat and a 14" too.

Eventhorugh Slipknot sucks, you have to admit that Joey is a decent drummer. I'd steal his kit anyday. Their new album actually has guitar solos and it sounds remotely like Soilwork's Figure Number Five. Very remotely though. I know a very hardcore nu metal intusiast who said that the new Slipknot album sucked because of that. He's very very very nu metal.
Also, the reason I don't need double kickers is because I've got a spot reserved for me in a doom metal band that I will take up in 2 years or so. Double kickers drown out the bass aswell. As somebody wise told me some time ago: "there is a certain relationship between the bassist and the drummer - you provide the backbone of the band, and you should work together and not against each other"
nz black metal drumm: sorry, but that'd be child porn. Besides, if I did that it would make someone really near and dear to me very very jealous XD

firstly I play my blasts beats effectivley left handed (right hand on the snare) so my setup suits how a play,
Say what you will about slipknot etc. but I personally say that they are metal (I have gone into big long debates on other metal forums about this) and even though their first album definately was not metal their other stuff is.
and also Joey is a brilliant drummer who puts most extreme drummers I know to shame, and if I could play HALF the stuff he does as well as he does then I would be a happy drummer.
and one other thing I was freezing my ass off and that sweater is very warm.
and to BC
if you are over 16 I don't class it as child porn....
and I am going to assume that the person you are reffering to is a boyfreind of yours, if so then he can have the priviledge of 'helping' you......
I doubt he would get jealous of that.....

MWHAHAHAHAAAAA
I know have a 10 piece!!! it cost me a total of $300NZD which is about 150-200 US (I am not sure of current conversion rates) I just bolted my mates old 5 piece (which I bought) onto my kit, it needs a bit of TLC but it should sound and look awesome when it is finished.

the skins are very worn out but the the shells are in good nick, just needs a little TLC.

No, if you look on the second pic (I think) his left bass drum does not have a head, and he uses a double pedal. I think he just has it to hold his toms.

indeed he has got good eyes, but they basses are the same size, so getting them to sound the same shouldn't be toooooooooooooooo dificult (in reletive terms) but I will probably use the old method of drum head tightning, do each screw a half or full turn until you get the desired sound, it takes ages particulaly with bass drums but theoretically they should sound the same....
(I sit and wait for someone to bitch at me for being nieve)

I think on the first pic I see a single pedal and another one at the white bass.

NZ Black Metal Drumm:
How do you play fills at all with your toms so far apart? Very nice Axis though.

I have tinkering with the setup to avoid that problem, but a rack would help but I am too poor after spending all that money so it will have to wait....
a long while........
but as for playing breaks and fills, I do not feel they are that far apart, sometime the smallest tom is a bit of a stretch, but apart from that I like my setup but it still has a way to go, I have cleaned all the drums and they are looking quite nice still need more work though.

NZ black metal drumm, did you happen to visit Brisbane a couple of months ago, and did you go to the Deeds Of Flesh gig, because I spoke to a New Zealander, and he was a drummer, and he liked black metal. I never got around to asking his name. Could it have been you? I know that's unlikely, but that possibility just bothers me.

Drummers Set
This not my set but it's our drummers. He also happens to be my best friend so I get to beat on it, . That sounds somewhat gay...But anyway, here's the set and you can't really see but he has an Iron Cobra DB pedal.

Yeah, i don't have those cheap ass cymbals anymore. I got some Paiste's to replace them for now. Until i can get the cash together to get some good ones. I'm looking at some AAX's or going back to my old Z customs that i used to have some years ago.
