Why would you cover the pickups, or are you not planning on using this ever again?

Duct Tape has no effect on the pickups. It might make the guitar itself sound funny though.

yea it doesnt really have that much effect on the pickups, we put one string on it and hooked it up to a little practice amp and it was pretty sweet, then i decided to tune the string as high as i could and you all know the outcome of that.

Well if he decides one day that he wants a red guitar then he can cover it in red duct tape then. I think it looks cool in the traditional duct tape color.

Yea i wanted to originally paint that guitar like yngwie style 80's white, but i decided ducktape would be a more hardcore, then i found that they sold white ducktape, but traditional grey is still awesomely ghetto tastic

On one of my ghetto guitars, the pickups are being held in by duct tape. I cut off most of the faceplate (All but where the knobs are) and I was going to drill holes to mount the pickups but I didnt have the right screws so I was lazy and just put a couple strips of duct tape arcross it. Ghettotastic!

Haha! Thank God you are getting a Ran guitar. Duct tape inlays could be very cool, though
