Peavey XXL or Supreme XL
Hi,
i am playing an Marshall Valvestate 100 Head. Itīs ok but i donīt really like the second distorsion Channel. It hasnīt enough gain (i play a Jackson DKMG), and besides its really noisy!
So i am going going to buy a Peavey XXL Head. I tried it several times and itīs really a great amp! But iīve seen yesterday that there is an other Peavey XXL with very similar Features (it just has one distorsion channel), the Supreme XL (this one is really cheap; 439 Euros, approximately 500 dollars)
Has anybody already tried this one. How is the distorsion Sound, is it the same than on the XXL ?

I have an XL... Its ok, just save up for a 5150.

Yeah, I'd save up for a better amp. Those XL and XXL arent that great but hell, if you like them then go for it.

The XXL isent bad for a SS amp. Id say save up for a good tube amp

Yupp, the 5150 aint too expensive so i think your better off saving some more money and buying that.

only if you like the way a 5150 sounds of course.... there are many good deals to be had on used tube amps..... sunn,marshall,peavey,mesa,ect.....

it depends on the type of music tho
if u play hardcore metal get the 5150
but if u play black,old school, or faster metal get the xxx
there the same price i think

the XXX & 5150 both do fine for just about any metal or styke of music that requires medium to heavy gain.

i ve played only the xxx but ive heard my friend play his 5150
and i didnt set up the xxx so maybe it was set up 2 play black metal
