a friend of mine has one, its plenty loud for a 100w SS!

I don't recommend it for standard tuning though, but if you play in full D or lower, its the way to go if you don't want to spend too much. (800 bucks for a half stack sure as hell aint' bad)

decent high gain for s.s. and it's fairly loud too. it was ment for handling lower tunings and scoopy sounds.... sorta "nu metal", but thats not all it does....
i wouldnt use the clean channel to much, it's bad.

Its a good SS amp for the price. The clean remains fairly clean even at higher volumes... but it dosent have much warmth to it. Id also check out the B-52 SS series and see how you like those.

Tried one, hated it. It sounds like any amp with this eq: Bass: 10 Mids: 0 Treb: 5. Even oif you turn the bass way down.

you must have not played it at very high volumes or with the matching 4x12, at way low volumes it sounds way rumbly, like most amps, but at higher volumes it smooths out abit, then with really really high volume you get harsh s.s. breakup.....but rocket 50's don't have the best bass responce anyways.

no, I agree with dead here, but its because of the distortion it has, its not as bad on the cleans but if you play in standard E tuning, it just sounds shit.

well, thats because it was made for 7 strings I reckon, it doesn't sound bad with 7 strings and downtunings.

ofcourse it doesn't sound like a 2000 bucks Engl head, but hell, its not what you pay for either.

are you kidding? the speakers in the warp 7 cab don't do lows well, it makes the amp sound thin imo....

I have been thinking of getting a Warp7, and it sounds as if it doesn't handle E tuning very well, but what about D# standard tuning ( 1/2 half step down )? I have a 7 string guitar, but I like to tune to D# standard and go from there most times with 6 string guitars.

Would this be a good amp for that tuning?

No problem! I've been thinking of going back to tubes for a while now. Warp7 does have a tube series, but I need to know if they are worth it.

I don't want to be a groupie but I have always liked a cross between Slayer/ Megadeth/Danzig tone ( very hard to get and explain without fine amps and effects ). I am looking for an amp that can be a base for that sound, but have the versablity to have things with other real soul included.

no way I'm not kidding, those cabs where made for downtuning, if I hook up my engl/peavey rack to them it sounds waaay to bassy.

Soulinsane, they do have a tube series, the Warp-T, look at the H&K website.. though I guess for that money you could buy something more decent.

Any sugestions on a amp I should try beside the Warp-T for a better sound? I like how tubes breakup on upper volume/power level distortion, but dislike practicing at that volume, because the tone/feel is completely different. Nevermind, I want an amp that can sound great at loud volume, be tight, and have great responcive( sp ) tone to tempo changes. SS/digital seemed the way to the light for a few years, but I am missing something like tubes in the power stage that seems to give better compression to the sound.

no, thats called the warp-t. The warp-x is some lame expensive as shit distortion pedal. Try out a 5150, their cheap and good. Or a Crate Blue Voodoo... xdx says they sound great.

I agree, for the money you're better of getting something else a warp T runs at 2000 or something.

if you like powertube saturation but you don't always need a cranked 100w tube head.... it's called a power brake or attenuator.... it allows your amp to be cranked giving you sweet powertube saturation, but at more managable levels.
they arent to cheap but they arent to expensive either....
you'll have to replace your tubes more frequently though because you'll be running them harder all the time......
the high price of good tone.

anyways, did you see my thread about the newer tube randall heads?... definately worth looking at.
it's called "impressive" ir something....

well fuck my ass and call me a bitch! they renamed it!

hahaha!

it was the warp T at first, when it wasn't in 'full' production, I know the guy who imports H&K in holland, he had one on display and it reminded me of a 5150 but then heavier and more 'down low' but that one was definetly called Warp T.

so eh, does anyone know the full story behind it?

meh, i'd take a triamp over them anyday... quite possibly one of the best amps ever made...
i don't see why ever amp maker needs to jump on the nu metal band wagon.... marshall mode four, ashdown fallen angel, peavey triple x,h&K warp _'s,line 6 everything, rocktron gainiac, ect....
it's lame, especially since the mesa recto has pretty much remained the main amp of choice for nu metal bands since the beggining.

it's funny though, i was playing the rocktron gainiac not to long ago, just to see what this $180 tube preamp can really do..... it had no mid knob, it had a scoop knob, it was just a backwards mid control. you turn it up and it scoops... i was like..."what the fuck is the point in that?"...... it had plenty of gain n' stuff, and it was a really easy to use preamp...all in all if a basic metal tube distortion tone is what you need, i guess it isnt to bad...
the clean channel only has a lo and hi control.. and it sounds like ass.
i was playing it through a mesa 2:100 and an orange 4x12 so that might have been why it sounded pretty good....

compared to other tube amps.. not really, and tone wise, I think they've got an edge mainly because they're so damn versatile (well, the Duotone and the Triamp are)

I love H&K stuff, the Triamp kinda looks like that pimp on the corner though, with the blue neon and all

you can pick up a used mkI triamp used for about a grand these days.... now that the mkII's are out..... the duotone and triamp are such versitile amps.... milky cleans to bone crushing gain.... and everything in between.
the triamp is actually kinda like a 6 channel amp, because each channel has two modes...
h&k stuff is pretty sweet. i'm really looking to replace my jmp-1 with an h&k access when i get the rest of my gear situated.....
