FUCKING UPS!!!!

gah im so fucking pissed at ups

So i ordered a Jackson DK2L from guitarxpress, and got a tracking number but when the tracking status didnt change for about a week i got worried(it stayed at "billing info received" which means no one has picked it up yet)
so i called guitar xpress and talked to the owner and he said he had personlly handed it to the UPS deliverman, after hearing that i phoned UPS and they said that i was to receive my package in 2 days(which i now know they just said to get my to shut up)

so after some more inquiry UPS somehow came up with this form that said they had no record of receiving the package and this was signed by the delivery man who guitarxpress gave the guitar to!!!

so its looking pretty obvious that the devilery fucker stole it and probably sold it, at least thats what i think.

if anyone has any ideas of how i can figure this whole situation out faster or get revenge on UPS please post.

i ordered my washburn through music123.com and within a month i got it signed, sealed, delivered from the US. And after a day i got another one! Must have double clicked or something, anyway i just sent it back no questions asked.

In your case: keep calling and calling and calling, eventually they'll take care of it just to shut you up.

And i would never order anything at that store again, www.music123.com is all you need for bottom prices.

Dont you pay for it first, then they send it to you?
So if thats they case for TheDoctor then them sending a second guitar is their mistake so you could just keep the guitar.

A variation on that is pretty much common practice, afaik (maybe that's only here in sweden though, I don't know). Sending the item, and letting the recipient (sp?) go to the post office and pay to get the item. That way nobody is in any trouble. If the item isn't sent, the recipient (sp?) did never pay, and if the recipient (sp?) tries to avoid paying, he won't get the item.

Yeah, that's correct.

Necro_Butcher: the only way you're going to get this sorted is if you hound them into oblivion. Maybe you should mention that after payment has been received for a product, the vendor is legally bound to fulfil their part of the agreement and provide the product in good working order. It's called the Sales Act over here, but I don't know what the Canadian equivalent will be.

Also, it's worth noting that Guitar Xpress cannot shift the blame onto UPS and cannot instruct you to take it up with UPS yourself. Guitar Xpress are the ones that contracted UPS to deliver their products so it is down to them to sort the problem out.

Basically, upon sale of the guitar, Guitar Xpress are legally bound to deliver it to you in good working order and within a reasonable timescale. Maybe you could also contact Trading Standards (or whatever it is known as in Canada), I'm sure they will be able to advise you on the correct course of action.

An odd story... I've only ordered a few things that had to be delivered, all by UPS, but I've never had any problems. Actually, my guitar came through UPS.

Johny is right, Guitar Xpress did give UPS the guitar or else the tracking # wouldn't work at all and Guitar Xpress should help you in finding out what happened. Even though they gave it to UPS, they have not washed their hands of the situation. Normally, you shouldn't have to call UPS and have to try to figure out what happened, as Guitar Xpress should be all over them.

Tell Guitar Xpress that UPS is making them look like a bad business, that if you don't know something very soon than you want a full refund and they can deal with UPS alone, because this shit isn't your fault and you can get the same guitar from somewhere else. Make sure you tell Guitar Xpress you will tell everyone and post a reveiw online warning others to not buy from them if they do not help, as they should. Tell UPS that if they can't tell you where the guitar is at then you want to file a lost item claim or that you will have Guitar Xpress file it. If they refuse to help or try to blow you off, ask for the boss and explain the situation to them. All parties should also know how upset this has made you, that if you could just know where the guitar you payed for is at, that the thracking # could display the real status of the guitar you might feel better. Don't let them get away with this. I bet the person that picked it up might have stole it too, is trying to get it lost in the system, and give you a hard time finding anything out so you give up. Let poeple know this and demand something be done now or else you will be forsed to contact other powers to pursue this situation with entitlement to compensation.

I know how nerve racking this kind of situation can be, so I feel your pain. I'm not being a smart ass, but just lose all hope about the guitar ( you will feel better ) and have fun giving these poeple what they deserve if they will not help you. The worst that can happen is you get your money back and buy another guitar from somewhere else... the best case is you get the guitar for free

Good luck and keep us posted on you guitar.

thanks man, tomarrow ill get up bright and early hound the shit out of everyone, also recently guitar xpress hasnt been answering my calls which is making me Uber pissed, i almost have a feeling the guy is not ansewering any calls from our area code because he doesnt want to deal with us.

anyways theres no way im letting this bastards cheat me out of my axe

That dirty, shady, fucker! Guitar Xpress should be trying to help or at least comfort you during this shit. That must be a bad business. I feel that if you run a business you should make every effort to protect your name and make sure a customer comes back. Good business is about PR, good value, and quality. The customer must be made happy at all reasonable effort and cost... some poeple are naver happy, though.

See if you can get friends from other area codes or phone #'s to call just before you do or after to see if Guitar Xpress are just not answering your calls. If that is the case, call UPS and check the track #. If they have nothing new, then just look around online about consumer rights, and go after Guitar Xpress. Maybe call a few Lawyers to see if they can perhaps give some free advice about small claims court. Send an email with a request for being recieved and read stating what you have done and that you will continue to pursue legal avenues if they don't begin to help fix the problem.

I remember you telling everyone about this guitar on the Ran Guitar thread a weeks ago. I thought you would have got your guitar by now. I had my Ran guitar shipped from Poland and held by US Customs, but I know where it was at and why it was delayed, unlike you. I was pissed, but I worked through it all. I had lots of help and contact from all parties. You don't seem to have the same situation, because it isn't a custom made guitar, it isn't being held by a government office, and you are being blown off about the problem. You have the right to open a lawsuit if they don't respond to you. Remember, you payed for something and it is your right to recieve it in a timely fashion unless there is a good reason. If Guitar Xpress refuses to help then in the end of things it might be, "Nerco_Butchers Guitar Xpress".

Give them hell! Guitar XPRESS my ass! I hope you get the axe you want soon.

Just thought I'd say to things.
1. JohnMansley, thanks for confirming the spelling. All too often, I'm unsure of something but I get no complaints or confirmations, which leaves me unsure. Thanks!

2. NecroButcher, during all these phone calls, try to remain calm. Just being pissed and yelling at them is going to make them feel less inclined to help you. Make sure you know what you're doing, call them, tell them what you want to tell with a stern, forcefull, but not openly outrageous voice. Controlled anger with facts to back it up is going to help you a lot more than uncontrolled whining with no facts to back it up. Basically, it's up to you if you want to sound like a serious danger, or some angry teen age boy.

Seems like once you confront guitar zpress with the form from UPS saying they never received the guitar, guitar xpress themselves will get very pissed off at UPS, and will be both giving UPS hell and giving you (because of legal obligation) another guitar, fast. Hope it works out quickly.

I just had to wait 2 1/2 months for a new guitar because of various incompetancies and finally getting the guitar stolen or destroyed by UPS. Motherfuckers should die. Just use that rage to play louder and meaner metal, man.

No problem! By the way, "John" will do fine.

Necro_Butcher: I hope they haven't fobbed you off. I think Guitar Xpress have lost a shitload of potential customers due to this thread - thanks for warning us, I definitely won't be purchasing from them. If there is any justice in this world you will get your guitar for free and then they will be declared bankrupt by the end of the week.

yes they called back

they said i have 3 choices

1 he could send another right now, but then we might end up with 2 coming to our door and we woudlnt be aloud to keep both.
2-i could get my money back
3-we can wait till monday till UPS is sure they dont have it,and if they dont have it he will send a new one

I have chosen #3, it was tempting to ask for my money back, but then id have to pay more for a jackson because they are alot more anywhere else.
so i guess i should be getting it in about 13 days.

the reason why i couldnt get through to him is because he was out of office for a few days, i didnt ask why.

and yes i doubt i will ever make a purchase from there again, and i wouldnt reccomend it anyone, even though the prices are very low, im pretty sure he is running a 1 man operation out of his home, but im not sure.

I haven't compared prices on Jackson guitars in a while but I would have to ask why they sell them a lot cheaper then other dealers? Anyway, #3 is good, but if you didn't pay via credit card then get you money back and let them deal with it if the guitar doesn't show by monday. If the guitar shows after you get a refund, have them pay to get it shipped back and charge them good!

How much are you saving by buying through this company? If its not a whole lot then I would just get my money back and spend a little more somewhere else. I'd rather pay more and know that my guitar is going to get here safely and quickly then pay less and have whats happening to you happen.

Glad everything worked out and a 5150 would be sweet, but I bet it is some strings, picks, and a strap. Hope the gift is good after all this.

Meh its still not good for buisness. on either side of the line. UPS should be way more careful with their stuff, whther its first class or whether its a turd wrapped in a used condom. and well it looks bad for guitarxpress

VICTORY!

ok i have a wonderful update to make

so i just called guitarxpress and they said they have sent the new one and i should be getting it in about a weeks time(fucking right)

anyways i have a very interesting story about my first guitar order.

well it turns out that all yesterday the owner of guitarxpress was and i quote"giving UPS hell" and threatened to file a complaint, i guess thats when UPS knew he was serious about this. So then i guess they did another search of thier shit and said they had no jackson dk2 l, BUT they did say they had a Duncan dk2 L, those fools, they thought it was a Duncan guitar which is why when we tried to search it out before they couldnt find it.
also whatever idiot delivery man was driving it must of thought that CA meant californa instead of Canada, what a fool.

anyways besides they few days of unansewered phone calls i am quite satisfied with guitarxpress's custoumer service. and i hope this hasnt made anyone decide against buying from them.
