Pain in the elbow

Anyone of you had this because of playing or something - or any experience with it at all?

I dislocated my elbow last year in April but I never had problems with that afterwards...

It's since a couple of days I have this, especially when I wake up, I feel pain inside my elbow... It doesn't feel like I overloaded it (by playing...)

Hope it ain't gonna make me quit playing (for a while), it would kill me

try stretching and putting some heat on it...massage would help too.

but the problem is, it doesn't seem to be the muscle... rather the bone or something like that.

Yep. We're gonna need amputation here.

Nah serious, itll go away. Pains always go away by about 1-2 weeks. if it persists for like a month id see a doctor. well i wouldnt, but id recommend it.

mm, I had it too for quite a while, but that was because I was playing way too much. especially if you play live you put on a lot more stress then you need, since you're kinda freaking out continuously.

dunno, maybe play a bit less or take more pauses.

or wank less..

Mind that you aren't tensing your arm when you play.

I went to my doctor with wrist pain (from playing fast and using computers) in both wrists. He said it was carpal tunnel irritation, but that it wouldn't be a big deal, I could get a surgery if it got too bad and be fine. He prescribed Vioxx and said not to worry about it, and now I'm having absolutely no problems.

What you need is more wankin, and take Anti-inflammitory, ibuprofen is an anti-inflammitory. Vioxx needs a perscription, and generally is for arthritis. You just need to condition your arm to handle it, quiting will only set you back, why would you even consider? So yeah, don't quit, jack-off lots, massage it, heat it and stretch it. That's my advice.

And F.Y.I. carpul tunnel can be avoided by stretching, your arms as well.

I was going to say that

Pushups do realy help, because you get some blood sirculation. If you are tired in your arm, take a few. But not so many that you get exhausted

i went on a guitar course last year and one of my teachers had problems with his wrist and elbow for a year and then he properly fucked his arm up. So he had to have surgery etc, he told us that all this could have been stopped in its tracks if he had the correct posture for playin guitar and that he should of stretched and done some skipping wen he felt pain.

That's what I thought too, but my doctor didn't think it was a problem at all, didn't even say I should take any time off. I think surgery is getting better and better. He said he's seen the same thing happen to a lot of other guitarists.

Just ask Dave Mustaine if you're unsure about how sensitive your arm's are...he fell asleep on his and lost the feeling in it for month, and had to do physio to build up strength to do anything, then teach himself how to play guitar again.

If you get pains, stop playing/typing/wanking right away. I had to end a band practice early once because I got a wierd pain in my middle finger. It wouldn't hurt at all when I moved it, but it have me a shooting pain as soon as I used it to fret a note. It went away pretty quick, and it has happened again once or twice to a lesser degree. It would only happen at the end of a 4 hour band practice tho.

I'd also get a painful elbow when trying to practise really fast downpicking at home, and it basically toaught me to always make sure I warm up my joints and stretch them as an athlete would.

Everyone says 'don't tense up' when playing fast, but to get fast accurate downstrokes at about 210 bpm (2 downstrokes for every beat) I have to be fairly tense. So I have to warm up.

Also, I always heard Carpel Tunnel Syndrome was BAD...
