ok. there are alot of sites that have wrong missleading tabs and shit like that. so post what sites YOU use most or most dependable on correct tabs.

Most of my Nile tabs have been posted on taborama.com by somebody else but I don't mind as the chap who posted them kept my name on the tab. However, you see my tabs here first (as I only post them here) and existing tabs are more up-to-date so it's still the best site to get tabs from me.
In general, I still believe that this is the best site for metal tabs, especially the more extreme end of the metal spectrum.

if you are upset about this then e-mail the administrators (in a non insulting e-mail) CALMLY informing them that you have posted the tab elsewhere, prior to that tab being posted, and you would like the tabs to be credited to you, or removed.

does it matter if the tabs aren't perfect?
as long as they are decent they are good enough for practicing or even covering, since the tabs are usually just an interpretation of the song anyway, there is always bound to be a note out of place here or there
and think back to the opeth guitar instructional video, mike admited that he forgot the solo to the drapery falls, so he just made something up that sounds similar, how is a tab of that supposed to be perfect if the band themselves no longer plays it "right"?

mxtabs.net has the largest collection of tabs on the net. not every tab. not the largest collection of metal tabs.
www.slaytanic.com has loads of Slayer tabs, not sure if its more than here though, i havnt counted each up.

People do that to me a lot. Actually, they do three things-
1. Post my tabs without permission on another site, still giving me credit.
2. Post my tabs on another site without my permission having removed my header, giving nobody credit.
3. Post my tabs on another site without my permission, removing my header, and putting one of their own, with their own name instead of mine (tab theft)
The first one is the most annoying to me, because most of these places have really old tabs I made that are very bad, all or most of which I have since updated and made very good. Basically if people run across these tabs, they'd think I suck, or at least that I'm not very good, and possibly avoid other tabs of mine.
The 2nd and 3rd are very common, it happens to me a lot, and it happens to other people a lot, too. I know for a fact it has happened to Inverted because he e-mailed me with a link to a site where someone had ripped off both of our tabs. Ditto for Death8699, who e-mailed me something almost identical, only the site was different, the thief was different, and he said the thief had ripped off both himself and me.
When this happens I do one of two things-
1. Politely inform the site owner or admin that the tabs are, in fact, mine.
2. Ignore the thief because the tabs he stole were old tabs of mine that are not very good, so I don't care if he wants credit.

of course it matters if tabs arent perfect, because they should be. it is most probable that there will be a wrong note somewhere in the song, but a serious tabber should try to make the tab the best way possible.
That opeth example you gave is meaningless. Mike forgetting his solo makes him look like he is not taking his work seriously and unprofesional. why lower your standard because some famous dude did?? fuck that. a tab should be as accurate as possible. at least thats what i think.

i personally think this is the best website for guitar tablature, having saved and printed out tabs from other sites. Infact, ive never gone wrong w/ a 4 star or more rated tab on this site. It doesnt have to be perfect, i can work it out if the almost-perfect idea is given.
but try www.mxtabs.com, quit diverse. |
