What is a good amp head?

im tired of my marshall amp. its an old relic it has a horrible sound. i would like to get rid of it. in replacement i would like to know what a good amp head is. just tell me the name and price. and where i Live they dont even know what the word "Guitar" means. so bare with me. i have to order it from online.

agreed, check the 'best metal amps' thread and post in there, we don't need a new one for this, theres tons of threads around for amps
