Solo's And Such
Well, the reason in THIS thread would be, if u cant handle teh solo, should u play the song? Cause yeah, i am just chilling with my guitar at a party, making up riffs as i go, than some guy came up and said he can play stairway to heaven, and i was like "Holy shit, i learnt most of the song, and ended up giving up at th--" than he cut me off, and said "yeah yeah man, i can play that song" so i give him the guitar, he plays and plays, than like, stops at solo, and goes to the

And im like, "umh..what the shit?" But the point of that story was, that guy pissed me off, and i gotta see if what i say is true...do not play a song if you cant play the solo..

what!!! i really like the song perennial quest by death, but theirs no way in hell that i m gonna be able to learn the solo to that!! the same goes for the Angel of Death solo, come on man,

i usually improv solos to songs anyways, esp. classic type stuf, bust out some minor pentatonics with a few minor scale embellishments, otherwise, i learn the solo as best i can, and put my own parts where i cant play the real solo.

stairway to heaven is probably the only song iv learned the exact solo to... usualy i just play some shit that sounds like it... but i know what you mean, its realy gay when somone says they can play a song but they only know half of it.
