haha, so true.
I have one solid state amp, its a peavey bandit 112 for home practise, it doesnt sound great but it does the job okay. once I plug into my rack tube setup its like my ears are ringing. totally different world.
SS amps lack feel and tone in a lot of cases, but some are pretty good.
theres no substitute for true tube amps though |

You little fag; you only really need to replace your tubes every 3 years, 1 year if you are someone like or friend def. But really why would you sacrifice a good tone because you don't want to deal with a little maintenance? The only reason I use a SS is because my combo died, and my MT-2 was running it  , and I got a supreme XL to due me for a while until I get more cash.

a blown up tube does not cause a fire.
it just fades out, nothing else happens to it and your amps shuts down if its secured. if its not it just doesn't work.
if you leave it on then and pull out a couple of tubes, empty a bucket of water on the amp and spray around with liquid gas, it might just do the trick.
so... what amp was it?

Umm, even if i set the bias of my 5150 to like 500 (dunno if its even possible) then tubes would just burn out... it wouldnt fuckin explode, throwing flames all over my house causing my hosue to burn down.
