Getting really aggrevated to find the right tone

Ok, so I recently just bought a single rect-o-verb combo. Blatantly, the thing in my opinion blows compared to the dual or triple for that matter (i have my reasons.) I can spend 1200, so is thier a rackmount setup or even a combo I should get which will be loud enough and can switch over from being as brutal as having the brutal death sound as decapitated or dying fetus to 80's thrash like testament, artillery, nosferatu?

Why did you buy and amp that you dont like?? Play shit before you buy it and maybe you wont be so aggrivated by the tone you get out of it. No one can tell you want amp YOU want, go and play them then decide for yourself.

Crates aren't that bad. They just got a bad rap. I'm pretty happy with the one I have which is solid state

what do you mean it sucks compared to the dual & triple rectos? all recto's have the same preamp, except the recto verb has an added reverb and the tremo-verb has reverb and tremelo..... the singles are 50w the duals are 100w and the triples are 150w.
the road king is a completely different amp though...
anyways.... i say go rack, best thing i ever did....

I say buy the rack recto, cheaper, just as good, then buy a good poweramp.

what are you talking about? a rackmount version of a recto would not only be hard to find, but it would cost much more than any recto head.... if your talking about the recto preamp that wont be much cheaper plus he'd be out more money on a decent tube poweramp.
besides, he already said he didn't like the rectos.
