New Digitech death metal pedal
I just saw this today online and it looks cool because it has a mid low and high eq and that will probably make it better than the metal master but has any one listen or tried this pedal before
because i am thinkin of buying this pedal it only $50.00 and it sounds like a interesting price for a digitech pedal but like i said does anybody have this or tried this i am really intirested in this pedal because it might give me a more brutal sound than the metal master i have so please post up you opinions about this thanks

it's just an improved dod death metal(digitech owns dod or somethin) it's just constructed better.... plus it has added amp and recording/mixer outputs, which i actuall think is cool, but still no gain knob(booo!). even if it was any better than the dod version i still wouldnt spend $50 on it.(but hell i wouldnt spend 50 cents on it because it'd be pointless)

*shutters* yeh, the mt 2 not only has the level, high, mid, and lows, but it also has a mid freq and DIST knob.
i cant stretch the importance of gain control on an amp or pedal enough...

I fell for the stupid thnig. Shopping on Musiciansfriend, I decided that I'd give the Digitech pedal a try. Now, Im going to compare it against the Metal Master, which I also own.
I've done alot of testing and I've come to a conclusion.
Metal Master > Death Metal Pedal
This thing might as well be the DOD Death Metal Pedal, with no Hissing. It's palm mutes are barely distuingishable from the Open Strings, and that Sound Demo that Digitech posted on their website is false. Even if you put the Settings as they describe, it still sounds weak. Im running the Pedal through a Crate Amp, the GX-212. I prefer the Amps distortion over this thing. The Metal Master still sounds razor sharp, with lots of variety.
Definately not worth 50 bucks.

Digitech actually made a "death metal" stompbox?
We all know the guys at digitech are just brimming over with originality.
Seriously ... I thought DOD had just re-done the graphics on it.
A guy at my local music store is offering to give me their BOSS MT-2 in exchange for my digitech metal master ... no questions asked. Since the digitech is selling more right now ( Disturbed's guitarist is responsible for this ). I think I'll do it.
I've heard the MXR Dimebag distortion pedal ... really sucks. There is'nt one in this area ... is it really any good?

I would just go for the Metal Master. It can do alot of different distortions including the Death Metal one.

not all pedals are jokes.... some are actually good... but it mainly depends on the amp... metal master+5150 & metal zone+ recto type setups are stupid but something like proco rat + fender hotrod, akai shred-o-matic+jc120 or ibanez tube screamer + jcm 800 type setups actually make more sense and usually don't sound very shitty.
