I had a GH50L and it kicked ass, was really loud and had good gain with an EQ pedal through the effects loop to help re-shape things.

Iommi started on Marshalls but then switched to Laneys early on because they were made in Birmingham. He said they used to blow up a lot. LET'S HOPE YOURS DOESN'T!! HA HA HA HA!!!!!! 
Seriously though, if Iommi used it, it's probably pretty damn good.

Beware though, that Opeth doesn't use the Laney's distortion when they play live. They use a Boss GT-6 for the distortion and effects, and run that through their Laneys for volume, and possibly pre-amping. Peter (Opeth guitarist, in case you don't know) says they could very well use the amp distortion, it's just that they'd have to reprogram all their GT-6 patches.

Some older analog electronics used wax paper is insulators and to incase some components. Analog/tube components generate lots of heat to I2R ( ET talk ) losses.
After time, the wax can get hot enough to melt away, the magic smoke excapes from the amp, paper catches fire, making more heat, causing more fights, the Amp is incased in a wall of flames before you know it. Burn baby burn!
