In a moment’s time until the cherry red smoking love dies

A rotten face like a devil wind that flows like venom

As I sleep, simply dozing by the flies that buzz in the night

A clap of thunder, and the roar of my voice to end this ritual
To wake the sleeping beauty that will rise with my last rite
I am the deepest dark, the strength of beast that glows in red
The despise of man, the creepy crawling insect of expiration

And so as the night lays down to rest its skeletal hand
The heavens will have a glimpse of me among the clouds
Peacefully napping within my chamber of unpainful death
Pile this life together – laced with venom, and call it Heavy Metal

I thought the first verse was worded a little awkwardly, but it might be how I 'm reading it. Lots of eerie imagery. I'm surprised you can sleep at night without scaring yourself ! heehee Pretty cool stuff. I almost always sense some sarcasm when I read you though. Sort of like Vinnie Price.

Oh? I wasn't trying to be sarcastic...but I see what you mean, I went to the max with the eerie imagery to reflect on the stereotypical metal scene. I guess, but I just wanted to sound evil. And I like metal, so the two went together nicely. So this was in no way to ridicule the metal scene.

I didn't quite mean that it was sarcastic in that way, but that you seemed to have a snide , scary element in it and then let the readers know it was metal you were talking about.

Basically, we're both saying it was awesome (that's right, isn't it L'B'?). It sounded slightly sarcastic, and also snide, but it added to it if anything; I'm not sure how it could subtract from it unless you just used it really stupidly. It's one of those really cool things about writing stuff; your personality just comes through in your works. But still, this is awesome.

"... your personality just comes through in your works." Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Your writing personality at least. It seems no matter what you write it always has that Poe-like quality where it's dark but for some reason it's magnetic. Stephen King does that, too.
