Request search feature by guitar tuning
Sorry if this has been suggested before.
Could you include a search feature for guitar tunings.
I tune to BEADGB or BEADF#B and I have to go into each song to see what the tuning is to see if I can learn it without retuning (which is a bitch on my floating bridge) and I'm not hot at transposing.
Anyway, thats my suggestion, I know it would involve alot of work for the moderators to log the tunings of all current songs.
This is already a fantastic site by the way.
Stick it to the Man!

most bands only use one tuning anyways, so if you go into one tab and see the tuning is in C, then usually the rest of the CD is tuned that way as well.

Yeah you're right, but it would be useful to cut down on the page crawling.
Good work on the MDB tabs by the way.

I doubt that feature would be really useful. Most people here don't search tabs that will fit their tuning, they rather search for tabs of songs they like. I think you should just do that too.
And you don't really need to transpose a tab or anything, just play the notes in your tuning... what does it matter if it's not the REAL tuning ??
By the way, Aborted uses that B tuning a lot.

Just off the top of my head, At The Gates and Cryptopsy do too.
But like SpiritCrusher said, just play the songs in the tuning you use anyway - it'll still sound OK (unless it's something in E or Eb).

Yeah I've been learning some songs off Slaughter of the Soul and also Carcass. I think I won't bother even attempting Cryptopsy yet.
The problem is that when I play the tab in my own tuning I find it harder to tell if I've got it right (or sometimes if the tab is right). I also find the songs don't sound as good in other tunings - but that shouldn't be a problem anymore because I bought a cappo yesterday.
I still think a tuning search feature would be useful for someone just looking for some random band guitar training.

I was thinking about this recently, and I definitely think this would be a usefull tool. It would be nice to search for a all the bands/songs that are tuned to a given tuning.
