The Red Chord kick MAJOR fucking ass. And I emphasize major in a major way. They are on a luck streak too. They signed them to Metal Blade and Metal Blade allowed the singer to bring his label on too. ALSO they got Longstregth (spelling?) from Origin to drum.
Heres an old thread that Slayme started awhile back about them: http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthre...highlight=Chord (Warning: The links he gives are not of The Red Chord, he later corrects it.)

I didn't know that.
I've heard comparisons drawn with DEP - are these accurate?

I suggest everyone gets Fused Together in Revolving Doors by The Red Chord. You wont regret it.

I avoided this band for sooooo long becuase their name and cd titles make me think their e emo band. I dunno "The Red Chord" ... sounds emo, and "Fused Together in Revolving Doors" it just reeks of emo vibe!!! The i finally downloaded some song and slapped myself

I just listened to them for the first time today... so far, I'm liking it. I don't know how unique they actually are in the context of metalcorish music.

Damn, OLD thread.
To be honest, I haven't dug the last two releases much at all.

Clients was good, but not as good as Fused together. and Prey For Eyes has one good song, the rest just feels like filler. I wouldn't really call this band metalcore, but I'm not really going to argue it. A band that goes from releasing "Fused Together in Revolving Doors" to "Prey for Eyes" doesn't get my thumbs up.

I thought Clients was a great record, although I've not heard their most recent output.

I can't stop listening to these guys. Not only that, but I really like Clients and like Prey for Eyes even more. Honestly, I like Prey for Eyes more than Fused Together in Revolving Doors.

I've seen there old line-up, one of the first shows I been to moving to Providence.
The old drummer made that first album good, the later material is ok.

Yeah, they're fucking killer live. I've seen the old and newer line-up, both of which were equal in performance.

I only like the riff in Black Santa. Pretty intense stuff I think

I've just listened to the new one for the fifth time in the past 48 hours. I really can't get off this stuff. It's more straight up death metal than the other releases, the "core" elements are significantly reduced (though not absent), and the melodic riffs and ambient themes are sprinkled more frugally through this release. They still make sure to sprinkle in these other elements often enough to make them effective, and it's beautiful.
The drums are mixed extremely well compared to the last release and the whole production really shines a light on the brilliance of the riffs. Some of the timing in the songs reminds me of Organic Hallucinosis era Decapitated. I love this so much my balls hurt.
I don't think I'll be more obsessed with a new release until Morbid Angel finally get something out.

Damn, Chris. I'll have to check this out. I haven't heard anything since Clients which I wasn't that jazzed about and I'm so burnt out on their first release I've been taking an indefinite break.

Same here, I didn't even realise they released prey for eyes in 2007.
The new track on the myspace sounds good. I might give them another go!
