Looks kinda cool. I don't think I would buy it though. I hardly use effects.

definately a neat little tool if you want a million different tones with a warm vox feel.

That whole tube in the preamp thing is just a nice little rip-off device. The warmth of tube amps comes mostly from the poweramp section, not to say preamp tubes are not important, but running a tube pre-amp into a solid state power amp wont give you that all so great overdriven tube warm, it wont hurt, but it's a nice little advertising device.

My Musicman RD 100 is a fucked up hybrid and has tubes in power amp and ss in preamp, so the makes it almost "all-tube" if i buy a ToneLab.

there is a noticeable difference between a tube preamp and a s.s. preamp
i borrowed a digitech multi effects unit/preamp with a tube in it(valve fx i think?) once and i was able to play it with the tube in or out, it worked either way, but the tube just kinda gave it a little change in the tone. same as in my jmp 1 preamp, with out tubes it wouldnt sound as good as it does.

but the difference between tube and s.s. is really really really noticeable in poweramps.

but yeah, definately a useful advertising plot.
