Weapon of Choice (Fav Guitar)
What is your favorite guitar? Mine is my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Classic '79 but I'm hoping to get one of the Jackson RR series. Then Im not sure what would be my fav.

ESP KH2, replaced the bridge EMG 81 with an EMG 89. Don't like the floyd though, they sound like shit, stupid cutting of the ball ends! I'm in the process of building a guitar, then that will by my weapon of choice.

why do people with floyds cut off the ball ends of their guitars? are they to stupid to relize that you can just put the string in backwards(ball end at the headstock)?
thats what i do. it just makes sense.
anyways, i dig both of my ibanez guitars. but my next guitar will hopefully be an ibanez artist series with gibson burst buckers.

Its not a dime, it's a WG-200-MR Washburn guitar. I like it a lot. Most other people might not find as that good of a guitar, but I like it a lot. I'll post a picture of it eventually.

Sure it makes some sense. It doesn't do much though. It won't stay in tune THAT much better because of the locking nut, and it will still sound bad, because of the saddles which clamp down on the string.

I use locking tuner that automaticly cut the ends off at the headstock... yeh lockign tuner with a locking nut may sound dumb but it says time of string strenching because their is less salck neat the headstock. As for the guitar with normal tuner's i still cut them off... ugly red.. purple, yellow, black... ballends look retarded as hell up there and when i have to remove the string it just end up pissing me off.
As for mt favorite guitar... which ever one plays good im not biased towards a certian brand or model.

i don't even use the locking nut. with a disabled trem there is no need for it. my shit doesnt really sound different by doing it this way, but everbody complains about cutting the ball ends off of the strings like it's required. it don't always have time to do all that work which is why i use alot of common sense to cut corners.

Schecters are pretty nice. I don't get why they are so cheap, but I'm not complaining! They are mostly set neck or neck thru, nice pickups, play well, and look very good, especially the ones with abalone binding (I just love binding). I might get one some day, got other things to get these days though.

duncan design pickups arent good, and thats what most schecters come stock with.

what guitar has ducan designed pickups?? All the Schecter's i played have JB's at the bridge and 59's at the neck whcih i love. I also played one with a duncan distortion at the bridge. I think schecters doing a good thing buy putting good pickups in their guitars... most people just change out the shitty ones anyways.

I like Schecter guitars. They have a good feel and great prices. Better than ANY B.c. rich guitar of the same price.

i was just pointing out the fact that alot of/most schecters have duncan design pickups. of course they have their higher end guitars stock with nicer "real" duncans, they'd be stupid not to.

more because of the nice pickups they come stock with, the fact that both have 24 frets, the similar body styles, and the color does help

i'm not a huge lp fan..... they're heavy and uncomfortable... bad switch location for a guy like me that doesnt switch every minute....only single cutaway.... kinda ugly... trendy...bleh.... good guitars, but i'm a bitch about some things.
i like sg's better, but still no, because they're to headstock heavy.
my fav gibsons are the lp double cutaways.... very nice guitars. pretty much all of the things i don't like about lp's have been changed in those guitars.

i used to have a gibby lp with the slim 60s neck.. it was pretty nice, but just not quite the shred machine that my 570 is. i agree.. the pup switch is in a stupid place. i do like the look of and tone lps, but not the weight or playability.

yes, because by default, if you cant play guitar if you dont like les pauls, although, if you look back on the history of great guitarists, the majority have played strats. personally i like schecters and prs'. les pauls dont play well, in my opinion, you fucking newb, just because you might think they are the fucking bees knees doesnt mean we do, so shut your fucking cock holster.

i was agreeing, whilst adding my own insight, so relax dude, i think they are heavy and uncomfortable, shit, i went out of my way to try a few at the store, cus everyone is always telling me how great they are, i had only played like 2 before, and i couldnt find one that felt good.

you called me a pussy because i don't like heavy guitars, that's an opinion.
and you think that the things you like are the only good things.(les pauls being the "thing" here).
i don't hate lp's or anything, i actually dig alot of gibsons an lp type guitars, but lp's have alot of things i don't like about them.
1. being heavy, not a huge deal really... i can hold a heavy guitar and play a couple sets with no real problem. but i'd rather not.
2. switch location, not a huge deal either, i don't suck so bad that i can't work around it.. but why work around it when i could buy a better guitar that doesnt require me to?
3. thicker rounder neck, not a big prob, but i like faster thinner necks, if i owned a lp i'd sand down the neck like i did to my other guitars.
4. frets, only 22 on lp's, i'm used to 24, but no biggy.
5.frets again, not jumbo frets, no biggy there either, but it's just what i'm more used to.
6.single cutaway, i prefer double cutaways, but it isnt that bad to work with...
7.tone, very ballsy, thick and dead in some lp's(newer & lower end ones especially), i'm not sure why, but it can be a problem when you don't want it.
so most things are small problems with comfort.... by no means do they suck or anything, but i wouldnt buy one unless the price was right(low). no sense spending alot of dough on a guitar that isnt whats best for you.
it's kinda like a metal head buying a fender hotrod deville combo, and saying it sucks or it's no good... because to a metalhead to be a good amp it has to have alot of gain. well, why the fuck would the retard buy it in the first place if it wasnt the kind of amp he wanted?

and if you knew anything about clapton, youd know that he started out playing les pauls. i guess jimmy page must not be a great guitarist, nor slash, nor zakk, nor joe perry....

i dont remember ever saying that he didnt play les pauls, but he figured out that they sucked, so he quit playing them. i hate zepplin, slash is ok, zakk is an exception to the lp's sucking rule, and aerosmith sucks

it doesnt matter whether or not one likes a band as much as it does that one can recognize talent; a gift that you have shown that you do not posses.
oooOOOoooo, death metal on a tele. want a cookie? lemme guess, you bought a tele because you couldnt afford a les paul.

i'd take a tele over a les paul.. but i love teles where as i do not love lp's.... i don't play death metal though, nor black metal... a little grind, a bit thrashy, some hardcore, but i think the majority of dm and bm bands are crap. although some are good. but i don't play the shit.

you just made yourself sound really retarded.... i'm sure the reason clapton stopped playing les pauls because he figured out they suck , and whether or not you like zep, slash, aerosmith, and zack.... they could probably teach you a thing or two about playing guitar.

My Gibson SG. It's not the most expensive thing, and I've played Les Pauls before and loved them, but they were a bit to heavy for my taste. My SG is the most comfortable thing i've ever played, low action with no buzz, lightweight, and thin. It pumps out whatever I want, from slow ballads to straight up Death Metal. Not quite a typical metal guitar (though Iommi used one), but it rocks!

My squier strat has the best tone ever. I loooooove that single coil pickup sound for death metal. Its so comfortable and has the lowest action ever. I hate high action cuz I suck so much at guitar that I cant play good when the action is high. IMO the squier strat is the best metal guitar ever! Get one!
If you havent noticed my sarcasm, you are an idiot.

I wouldn't know my favorite guitar, cause I haven't played them all... But the one I'm semi-content with is my ESP EX-50. A cheap ESP to fuel my love of Explorers (my bad, EX's) and at some point, I'm getting rid of the LH-100's and getting either a SD set (Jazz: neck, JB: bridge) or EMG's. In my opinion, it sounds pretty good for a cheap guitar, most ESP's I've played do (and that's not a lot). I screw most other guitars, I truly enjoy ESP's... Well, maybe a Gibson could also make me smile...
