I have no idea why, it's not usually the kind of music I like, but this band sounds ok to me. I've got both albums at home. The first one is horrible in my opinion, and the second one is good. They can get pretty creative at times. The lyrics and solos are both really cool.

Same here. I'm more along the lines of Dying Fetus, Vader and Gorgasm but for some reason they stand out. Same with slipknot's newer songs.

I dig 'em, plus they put on a great live show. They have a big thrash influence, but in the end, they pretty much remind me of a more intense Pantera.
Minus the heroin.

I like thier drummer and the vocalist's voice really improved. I think they're okay, I like Shadows Fall much better though.

Oh yeah. American Gospel sucks pancreas next to As the Palaces Burn...well, actually, it just kind of sucks. But Palaces was a huge, huge change, especially in terms of the vocals. I think they sound fucking great now.
(edit) Sorry, I've no idea how to fix that quote screw-up.

I think they're OK recorded, but a little boring somehow... maybe the songwriting could be a bit better.
But fuckin a they put on a bomb-ass live show! No question they rock! Also, I've only heard them recently, but I love the guy's vocals, and he's got stage presence to spare.

They were recently signed to Sony.
I guess that makes them "sell-outs", right?

himsa is awesome man! so many people judge before they even listen to the music and just because you've listened to one song and dont like it doesnt mean they suck. i had to listen to lamb of god and zao a few times before i knew what the hell was going on, so listen to the cd a few times then if you dont like it then bag on it.

I think drums on "As the Palaces Burn" are stunning. I've tried to replicate that sound through drum making programs but I've failed. Anyways. This cd is great. Might take a bit getting use to but after that it is great. They have lots of trash metal influences. They began as i believe a hardcore band but have shifted quite a bit since New American Gospel.

These guys actually had it going alright when they came out with New American Gospel, and even better when they had the band Burn the Priest. But now with thier new album out they have turned to complete and utter shit.

As I Lay Dying and Between the Buried and Me is metalcore, maybe Himsa and Killswitch Engage, not Lamb of God.

LOG
Am i the only one who thinks LOGs first album is better than the second?
Its faster and they fuck about with timing more. The second album is good too though. Anyone know if they're coming to the UK anytime soon?

I prefer the solos, the production and the voice on the second album. The riffs are less repetitive too.

As you may be able to tell by my user name.................I LOVE LAMB OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They kick a lot of ass. I love the guitars and Randy's voice is to die for. There drummer also employs some interesting rythms, though I do not drum myself. My only complaint is the bass is hard to hear. The first album rules, but is not quite as refined as the second album. If you're going to by one, get As the Palaces Burn.
By the way............ you can lick me BeastOfCarrion!

The fiends have gagged a generation of pacified fools
Bound by our greed a nation enslaved as corporate tools.
Arise and race the legacy of their lies
To realize that this in itself is an ascension
Towards the day we revolt.
As the seeds you've cast away take hold
War will be born.
Rejoice, the age of the fall has begun
We'll dance as the palaces burn.
A shot gun blast into the face of deceit
You'll gain your just reward.
We'll not rest until the purge is complete
You will reap what you've sown.
My redemption lies in your demise.
In such a world as this does one dare to think for himself?
The paradox of power and peace will destroy itself
To know the truth and live in fear of no man.
To realize that this in itself is an ascension
Toward the day we revolt.
As the seeds you've cast away take hold
War will be born.
Rejoice, the age of the fall has begun
We'll dance as the palaces burn.
My redemption lies in your demise.
Rejoice, the age of the fall has begun.
