The Mixed Set

I have a Thunder drumset, with 2 zildijan crash cyms, im lookin to get another bass drum so i can get rid of the annoying double bass pedal...is it still gonna sound good if i have a mixed brand name set? I am also gonna get another floor tom and another ride cymbol...should i stick with the thunder line or should i look for the best out of any brand?

Whatever you do, don't buy 2 different bass drums. And they must have the same skins because when they don't sound the same it sucks and you'll have to trigger them.
About the floor, I don't think it would mind if you buy some other brand. But I would buy Thunder if I had a Thunder set.
The ride doesn't have to be the same brand as the rest.

cymbals don't need to be matched... but two bass drums should be fairly identical(brand, heads, tuning, size, ect). the snare doesn't need to match the rest and the toms should match each other, but its not as important as bds.

You could just stick with the double pedal, and get the other bassdrum too. That way you can still do normal double bass, and some unique bass sounds.

He wants to get rid of the double bass pedal. He is not playing disco death metal, so whats with the unigue gay MTV bass drum?

Dude, it was a suggestion. Having two bass drums that sound slightly different can get interesting sometimes.

PS) And about the nu metal thing, when you get older and richer, you shouldn't be allowed to bitch and moan like a little goth kid.
