As Beautiful as the sun


Imagine there’s a thought that none could dream
A perfect place read only in my creed
The kind of secret heroes only find
And yet locked up in my creative mind
She walks across the air into a crowd
Whose silence stuns the voices of the loud
Her eyes they glow of mystic rhythms true
Known only by the way they open blue
The far off land of many open paths
Yields to a group that carries the old staff
Who watch her dance and marvel at the sight
Afar I sit to see her in her light
Stone walls appear in front of me to hide
The love I feel that eats away inside

I thought that was very pretty. Sort of got a bit bittersweet at the end which I liked. And that's from a feminine perspective instead of the testosterone laden ones you'd get from most here. Nice one, very good imagery and wording.

thanks! it started as a school assignment that i trashed and then came back and finished...writing a sonnet in iambic pentameter is no easy thing.

Ive seen alot of your work too...i have to say at first i thought it wasnt meaningful but then i really looked at it and wow you have a lot of talent that is very well put into writing beautiful things...

yeah, L'B' is great. she's got a lot more experience in this world than most of us! i did something a while back for school. i had to get extra credit for english 'cause i had a 55 so i wrote a sestina in iambic hexameter. i think it's on here as "A Soldier's Plea" stupid teacher didn't give me any extra credit though. she sucks. i tried to turn in an assignment the other day, she wouldn't take it. then, when i tried to turn it in the day of our exam, she said it was too late! what the heck? you wouldn't take it from me on the day it was due, so now i've got to live with a zero? hmm...for some reason that doesn't sound right.
you had some good stuff there Cybris, i don't usually write love poems about my girlfriends either, they're mostly "I want to kill you you stinky little ****" if that explains anything.
"Afar I sit to see her in her light" this is me. i'm always on the sidelines while everyone else's life is great. she's usually looking at someone else too. i liked the bitterness at the end though. it's not like you're bitter as in emotion, but more as in taste, like powdered chocolate.

I'm over twice most of your ages. You've got time to go way beyond me when you're this old. I think I quit versewise before I really got started. Don't give up on it if you really love it. I realized sometimes family isn't the best to have read. Eh, I'm a late bloomer, but I really love writing now and apparently other people like to read which is really a great encouragement.

A guy at my forum was asking how to prevent /deal with writer's block so I suggested looking at things from different perspectives. i don't care what kind of car i get, so long as it's old, big, and has problems so i can fix them, and eventually gets me where i want to go, oh, it has to be fast too. there's this really crappy old Bronco right outside my neighborhood. it's painted all camo like and they're askin' 2,000 dollars for it. i want it. problem....i don't have 2 grand. oh well. we'll wait for the next one.
