No, I posted that to prove my point that tube amps ARE louder than solid state despite you constant cackling about how they are not.

what?, you were the one saying that the wattage of an amp is has nothing to do with how loud it is. and a couple people were trying to say shit like 350w of s.s. power is only like 150w of tube power..... 150w tube or s.s. is 150w... whether one is louder or not.

My point was that wattage is not an accurate rating of sound production. A 50 watt amp is not 5 times louder than a 10 watt amp. And a 50 watt solid state is not equal to a 50 watt tube. Stop trying to back track your arguments and just admit you were wrong.

i would admit that i was wrong but the only problem is i wasnt....i wasnt the one saying a 50w amp is 5 times louder than a 10w amp. and 50w IS 50w whether its tube or s.s., but the perceived volume will be different, but for some reason everybody just exagurates how much louder a tube amp is than a s.s. amp of the same wattage as if it's down to a commonly known science.
hell, i've played two different 100w tube heads side by side and they werent exactly the same volume either..
there is more to the volume produced by an amp than the wattage you know. size and # of speakers, open or closed back cabinets, the effeciency of the speaker(s), and so on.
not to hurt your pride or anything, i under stand what you're trying to say. but you're starting pointless arguements to make your self look good, but if you look at it. we're kinda trying to prove the same point.
