tube pedal...?

OK I have got a "RANDALL solid-state 100 watt 2-12 amp"
I have no idea if this amp is really good. I got some friends that like it.

Anyway the thing is I have a "METAL MONSTER" pedal by "guyatone/flip" and it has a tube of its own in it. The pedal it's self cost me $180 dollars.
it sounds good..sometimes a little fuzzy.

thats not a bad pedal imo, it beats the hell out of the boss and digitech metal pedals..... but i think most setups usually sound better with some tubes in the signal.... they just make it sound better. a cheesey multi effects processor can sound awsome if you run it through a nice tube poweramp, or a tube preamp and or pedal in front of a s.s. poweramp or head will give your tone more.....something... hard to explain... you just know it in your tone.

but some other good tube/valve pedals are.... akai shred 0 matic, mesa vtwin, mesa v1 bottle rocket,h&k tube factor overdrive, nady td 1,e-h hot tubes, and the e-h tube zipper.....

The amp is not a bad one at all; it works very well. I completely agree with xdislexicx about the whole tube/SS thing. Your pedal with that amp should give you most of what you will ever need.

If you got that pedal used then you may need to change the tube. They burn out sometimes but that is just the story of all tubes; it's a fact of life. I wouldn't ever turn the pedal on without it hooked to your amp, because that can kill a tube really fast. Also, most tubes need to warm up a few min to sound right; maybe why it sounds fuzzy? I'm sure that the instructions, if you got any, will explain the right way to care for this model of pedal. I have never used it before.

yes you will have to replace it at some point.

and your amp is pretty good imo, but you should be able to tell if you like your own sound.
