im lookin at saving to get a laney GH50L, does anyone have any experience with this or the GH100L, the 100 watt version. Mikael Akerfeldt of opeth plays he hundred watt version, but 50 is plenty for me, but i love opeths sound.

btw, i am also looking at getting it because it only has one channel, because my distortion comes from an effects processor.

one channel heads are usually ment to be cranked to 10 because they get great sounding distortion they arent ment for super cleans or anything. if you want good loud cleans so you can run a pedal for your dist, you should look into a fender or roland jc 120 combo.

i would slightly overdrive the clean stuff i do, but it is the same thing i am doing now, with a peavy classic 50, running the amp clean and driving it with my effects processor.

Mikeals tone comes entirely from his Boss multi-pedal, so i don't think getting that amp in particular will achieve much really.
