Hmm, between the Proclaimer's "Sunshine on Leith" and "Send Me an Angel" by the Scorpions I got a 'paper melody' pretty easily from this. I think it would be a cool piece to do in a slower metal sound. I thought it was very nice ...from a girl's point of view. You'd probably have the ladies swooning over you, too.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but when I read that... the first thing that came to mind was that you may have been trying to tell your pet ( I thought was a dog ) how bad you felt that you had to go somewhere, but felt even worse because your pet doesn't understand a thing your saying, but keeps looking at you, but thats OK because your pet will be there once you get back and may not give a damn your leaving... my next thought was that this song should be posted on the Back Street Boys forum. I'm sure that with music I would maybe like it more... I don't know? Could be like Danzig, you know how the songs sound stupid if read, look for yourself, but rock and have a different meaning when put in content of the music? It doesn't have to turn into something like that. There are some beautifully worded songs in other genres. Read some of Zeppelins lyrics about 3 year old kids or dogs. (The one about the blue eyed merle? ) Ozzy's "My Little Man" I just love. Hendrix did "Angel " about his mother.
I can see where it could be written about a beloved dog. That's not a bad thing though. Think about how versitile it would be. For some reason , Kermie singing to his nephew ,Scooter, by a big pond came to mind. YOU MIGHT HAVE MOVIE MATERIAL HERE !!!
Maybe you can tweak it a little here and there. Don't look at it for a couple days and then go back and read it again. Lots of times I find areas I've overlooked that way. I still think it's nice though.
