Dream band compilation
I'm curious as to what people would like the line up would be in their dream band? (I dunno I just felt like making another thread )
Varg Vikernes - Vocals
Mikael Ĺkerfeldt - Backing vocals and rhythm guitars
Gene Palubecki - Lead guitar
Carlos Del Olmo Holmberg - Keyboard
Jason Healey - Bass
Dave Haley - Drums
Have them playing Deströyer 666/New Atomizer-style black/thrash metal.
Oh and I can't forget, they should put on an insane live show with amateur pop-star strippers, illegally high volume and the best part, hunting down wannabe rappers like Sleek the Elite and torturing them to death.
now THAT is a dream band

Myself, Keith Richards, & the line up of the lastest playboy calendar being paid Turkish figures in Pounds Sterling, & having crowds come to us instead of touring. Yes, that sounds fabulous...
Oh, yeah & Chuck. Because having a corpse in your band is always cool, especially a talented one.

It kind of gets annoying. 'Cos in some parts he sings really fast, and makes these weird faces, he does a little dance to accompany that. I think the rest of the band are too stoned to noticed what the fuck is going on.

Good thread, I should know, I made one just like it not too long ago.
What the hell, I'll update my original "dream" band:
Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation) - Vocals
Matt Harvey (Exhumed) - Guitar & Vocals
John Gallhager (Dying Fetus) - Guitar & Vocals
Will Rahmer (Mortician) - Bass & Vocals
Tony Laureano (Nile) - Drums
I normally had Nathan Gearhart (Vehemence) as a vocalist, but I like to hear Travis in another band other than Cattle Decapitation (their drummer sucks). I also had the guy from Cryptopsy for the bassist but 4 talented death metal vocalist seemed different.

Trev from black dahlia murder- vocals
Jason Becker and Marty Friedman- guitar, just like when they made the perfect match in Cacophony, and made absolutely brilliant guitar pieces, as they do in their solo careers. To bad Jason Becker has A.L.S
??????- bass (i dont really notice talent in bass, maybe just not listening close enuf)
Flo Monier- drums, because he is awesome.

Let's see...It would have to be a black metal band
Eric Peterson (Dragonlord): Vocals
Horgh (Immortal): Drums
Stian Aarstad (old Dimmu): Keyboard
Timo Lehtinen (Catamenia): Bass
Frederik Söderberg (Dawn): Guitar
Ihsahn (Emperor): Guitar

A grindcore band
Tony Forde (Blood Duster)- Vocals
Michael Amott (Carcass, Carnage, Arch Enemy...) - Guitar
Jason PC (Blood Duster)- Everyone's favourite naked bassist
Brain Harvey (Pig Destroyer) or Skitz (Damaged) - Drums
I would include Mikael Akerfeldt but he probably wouldn't fit well.

"If he's so great, then why is he dead?" God damn its a Simpsons joke! And in the episode, it was directed at Jesus. I said it because I figured it would get chuckle or something, not a dumbass shooting his mouth off over some dead bassist from Metallica. I liked Cliff, I'll admit it. But that one song on Kill Them that is just one big bass solo, I can play that. And if I can play it , I don't really say its all that difficult. I just think Les is better. Maybe I think that is because Tommy the Cat is fucking hard as hell. Plus, its just another Primus song. Metallica gave Cliff a chance to make a song on their first cd to play the best he could and it still didn't impress me. PERIOD

That's all very well being able to play it, but could you create a piece of music like that? That's what set Cliff apart from the average bassist - he didn't follow, he lead and influenced others.

I totally agree. Thats why I liked Cliff, he had a following. I still think that Les's material is thougher. I hope people didn't didn't take what I said wrong, but I'm still sticking to what I said.

I'd have many, depending on the syle of music but if I wanted a death Metal band id say:
Alexi Laiho-Lead Guitar
Anders Friden-(Vocals)
Janne Warmen-Keys
Jesper Stromblad-Rythm
Henkka Blacksmith-Bass
Jaska Raatinen-Drums
o, screw it, my dream death metalbands already out and its Children of Bodom. I just never liked Alexander much so I'd put Jesper in their. And with Anders...screw him and give the mic back to Alexi.

vocals-That singer thing from cradle of filth
Lead Guitar-Timo Tolkki
Rhythm Guitar-John Petrucci
Bass-Bassist from Cradle of Filth
drums-drums from Metallica
Keys-kb from cradle of filth
This would be a horrible band but it would be priceless when in the middle of a concert Petrucci got fed up with the stupidity of the rest of the band and started to use his guitar like an axe to kill them. And if the guitar broke I'm sure he probably has something in his gigantic rack to electrocute them with. I've never seen him angry and him killing a band on stage would be really damn funny.
