Alright I could use some advice...

1/ I need to write this medieval intro thingy... Preferrably acoustic, folky - medieval style (with that typical feeling to it)... Are there any such things as medieval scales or can you give some guidelines as to writing such stuff?

2/ Alright I have this way for writing (simple, short, one scale - damn I suck) solos... But I think it's not the correct way (although they don't sound bad).

F.e. if I have 4 chords (2nd guitar) like G, A, Bb, C. Then I check which scales start with the same intervals, like here the Aeolian scale (starting in G).
Is it alright to build my solo upon the Aeolian scale (in G) then?

Should be, if you want something particularly haunting try the harmonic minor scales. They're alot of fun for stuff like that. Here's a link of me screwing around in C harmonic minor. It's pretty slow and there are some mistakes but you can get a feel for the key.

good way to get that old skool feel is trying to find some skores or tabs of lute musik transkribed for guitar.

also, a kommon thing with this musik is that they would finish a minor piece with major chords.
try to use barre chords with maybe only playing 3 or 2 notes at a time.
or, play a melody line above the root or fundamental tone of the chord or skale youre in, like a piano.
