Would active EMGs be ok in a Jackson?
Or should I get some Seymours instead?

Nah, the duncans are the best for jacksons. Depending on the model. The Warriors go good with emgs and the Dinky and explorer go good with the duncans

I had an 81/85 combo in one of my Jacksons and it sounded like shit. I pulled them out, put the duncans back in the Jackson and then switched the EMG's into my Kramer Les Paul copy and I was MUCH more happy overall. My vote is stick with the duncans unless you really don't like the sound at all.

if they dont fit the tech could probably drill out an area, depending on the size of the guitar ... not really sure

Jackson cavities are usually fucking tiny. Youd have to get a bigger cavity drilled out if you were desperate for EMGs, which you shouldnt be, because Duncans are better.
