i need new pickups bad. i have shitty bc rich pickups right now and i was going to get emg's soon but now im not sure as to what i should get. i was told a lot of people in my area use duncan pickups but i dont know whats better. i have a death metal type of playing style. i was at guitar center and someone told me about the duncan invader humbucker and the duncan distortion humbucker so i was gonna get duncan but i really need more of an opinion on what you all think are better. i also need to know if with each pickup if i can change only the one in the bridge position, at least for now, and maby get one for the neck position later because i hardly use the pickup in the neck position.

Another one stuck whit the crappy Bc Rich pickups, welcome to the club. i have a warlock, im telling you the whorst guitar i ever played, and on top of that it way a 9 billian tons.

I dont eaven want to change the pickups, i am just gonna save up to buy a new guitar, and def not a BC Rich.

i like the invaders i got em in my LP and they own. i like the tone of the invaders more than the emg 81s 85s and 89s. apart from that ... if u buy emgs u should make sure that they sound on ure amp. i had problems several times. there are some amps wich sound very crappy through emgs. anyway u'll also be faced to change the battery cuz the nice emg pu s are active. so u need to make sure that u have enough space in ure guitar for the battery. maybe u test em both before u buy one. i can recommend duncan sh-8 and sh-10 ... if u wanna go with emgs go with 81s in the bridge but pls aviod buying emg hz pu s ... they suck ass.

cool thanks panda....yea kokaiinum i know the pickups suck, but i actually liek the guitar and i dont really think it ways that much. but i dont no everyones got there own choice and likes and dislieks in guitars. although i would rather probly have a nice ibanez or maby esp, jackson maby.

I'd prob go with some duncans, perhaps a custom in the bridge or a dimebucker etc. I've played a couple of guitars with emgs and didnt like them, they sound a bit thin and dont have much variety in their tone

and don't get me started on those 'screamin' demons, they should be called 'whining' pussies. they sound like ass, not a lot of gain at all, maybe for people who want a vintage sound or something...

the invaders are the most brutal they've got. if you want more solid distortion go for EMG, but then you're stuck with one overall tone, thats why I prefer passive pickups like dimarzio tone zone's and s-d invaders.
