Yeah Dream Theater has great epics, and I heard that Iced Earth had an epic about the civil war that was good, i dont really listen to iced earth, but Symphony X also did the Odyssey.

BLIND GUARDIAN-AND THEN THERE WAS SILENCE
Iced Earth-Gettysburg
Iced Earth-Dante's Inferno
Iced Earth-Something Wicked Trilogy
Iced Earth-The Suffering Trilogy
Symhony X-The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Therion-In The Deserts of Set
Mercyful Fate-Into The Coven
I'm not a huge fan of Rhapsody, but I'm sure they have some. Bal Sagoth too.

Leviathan by Chronozon is pretty epic but only clocks in at around 7 minutes. Also War Pigs by Black Sabbath but the ultimate in epic has to go to Unas Slayer Of The Gods by Nile.

Youre right, Nile is damn epic!
As for black metal, the most epic keyboards ive ever heard are created by summoning. I guess their not black metal anymore though, but even more epic now. I like all of their stuff anway.

Metallica aren't epic for you tards who think otherwise. It's bad enough calling bands that fit the genre of thrash epic.

Inno A Satanna by Emperor sounds quite epic to me, although it is a rather short epic!

The most epic song I've heard is Stargazer by Rainbow.
Manowar have many epic songs(they may be posers but
they have many good songs).
Many Bolt thrower songs sound epic to me.
Also Alexander The Great by Iron Maiden
and all the songs from Bathory's Hammerheart.
Of course I can't leave out Unas The Slayer Of The Gods
by Nile

Nokturnal Mortum is the ultimate manifestation of epic-ness. Enough said. So is newer Burzum, but in a REALLY boring way. On another note, I don't really think you can classify any thrash songs as epic. Just a matter of opinion though I suppose.

Manowar epics rule.
stuff like Bridge of Death or Gates of Vahalla ( i mis-spelled this shit for sure) annihilate all other epics.
and Eric Adams voice only adds more "epicness".

on a side note, metal archives deleted my points because i sent in the band Sikth. apparently they can take away points for a simple error in judgement. and i earn those points purely by reviews!

epic stuff
i dont remember f anyone listed this but
rime of the ancient mariner is a pretty cool epic
of course i like unas as well, devine wings of tragedy is a cool epic
the moor is really good as well as black rose immortal
almost everything blind guardian does sounds epic and powerful regardless of length.
of course i think vehemence would have written some really killer DM epics on god was created had they combined two songs in certain places
made for her jesus and she never noticed me flow really well
as well as fantasy from pain and christ i fucking hate you.
i think metallica has a nice epic with call of ktulu and to live is to die one is also sort of epic'ish

Falkenbach (everything) this is very good band in the vein of Bathory but still kind a own style. Very great black/viking/folk metal with an epic athmosphere.

Depends what you consider epic...
Emperor - With Strength I Burn
Emperor - Into the Infinity of THoughts
Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence
Xasthur - In the Hate of Battle
Cephalic Carnage - Halls of Amenti
Drudkh - Glare of Autumn

I think Manowar with Orson Wells Speech on DEFENDER is the ultimate Epic Tune...
But lot´s of bands like Amon Amarth and Immortal bring a new Breath to the so Called Epic feeling. It´s a different Stuff, but with more balance, and not to cheesy.
