Yeah, he only had a bridge X2n pickup. I read in an article that he used a simple pedal with an orange color. He used BC Rich Mockingbirds on his earlier albums. He then switched to the BC Rich Stealth guitars.
I have a BC Rich Stealth as well. What are the chances?
Yeah, Chuck's my hero.

Well, I can only compare it to some other guitars that I've played- Les Paul's and Strats.
The stealth:
is a pretty light guitar compared to the les pauls.
is about 6 inches longer than my american strat
was custom made (bought it used), has active electronics,bridge/neck humb.
kahler bridge, with tremelo arm option, solid neck through, and so on. It's got an onboard preamp switch that I call the 'kick ass' switch.
Feel wise, the stealth is headstock heavy. The headstock wants to go down. Get an abrasive strap and it's resolved. The p.m. is very comfortable and was made for palm muting. A nice, thick, neck and the fretboard width is wider than the telecasters. It's a piece of cake to reach the 24th fret with your pinky alone on high e.
I wouldn't say that is more comfortable than my strat but it's comfortable for the shape of the guitar. You can play it easily and comfortably sitting down and the one 'horn' of the stealth acts like an armrest. Since you don't even see them around, people call it an 'in your face' guitar. I brought it down to one of the local shops to try out jcm 900 and the owner approached me and asked if he could try it out. He loved it. The other worker couldn't stop checking it out. It definately turns heads and sounds (dimarzio) chunky when played on a marshall. I got a jcm 900 2500 and the distortion is crazy. It's got a great chunky sound when I activate the preamp switch.
It was custom made and is a professionally built guitar. I totally lucked out on getting it. I can put a photo up (if I knew how).
There is one for sale on ebay as I am typing this out.

when i play along with the perseverance cd, my guitar sounds exactly like his. The valvestate he uses is the exact same one i got. He has a bit better sustain then my LP though because of his pickups. Im gonna buy some emg's soon.

Check out this website. It has an intro tune so watch the volume. Click on the famous users. Some of them used the Stealth. Rick Derringer is the one who designed the guitar in the first place.
Ronz BC Rich Site
Yeah, I was looking for a VS 8100 but I couldn't find any in my area. When I do, I will probably buy it. High wattage though.
