80 charactors max error!!??

I just finished typing a new mithotyn tab and i cant make it past step 4 on the submission because it says not to exceed 80 charactors. So i reformatted the tab... I reformatted it so much that now i dont even exceed 70 charactors but the error still comes up. I cant figure it out! Whats wrong???

Try this: press Ctrl+A (select all), it will inverse the font colour in the editor window so that you will be able to see which line is longer than 80 chars.

Hmm, i tried it, just for the sake of trying it, but i still get the error. I assure you no line in the entire thing is any longer than this one:

|-------------------------------------------------------------------|

So i dont know whats causing the error. Isnt that ^ 70 charactors? Well thats the longest line i got ...

i just tried again, i think ive tried around 9 times. I pasted from the attachment too. Still the same problem. I dont know what is wrong if it worked for you. If there are any alternatives to get the tab through, let me know. I tabbed the song so i could play it, but i only typed it for Metaltabs...
I just wanted to add that Bestial warrior told me that when he was submitting his last tab he had to shorten every line to 60 charactors. So i dont know what thats about.

Mine or Bestial's? I'll answer both... Mine: i thinks its pretty good, i play it along with the song and it sounds fine. Bestial's: i have not seen it.

OK, try to copy/paste it from here:

I guess this is Word that's causing problems, try to use notepad instead.

I modified the page where you see the error. Now all long lines are highlighted.

Problem solved!!! And what a great addition to the site. The highlighted lines made me realize what the problem was. You see, on Word when you type in two of these ( - ) it makes automatically makes them into _ , but in the middle like the small ones. Therefore, i would just add another, which was causing them to really be making ( --- ) instead of (--), which added too many charactors. But i couldnt see that because the take up the same amount of space somehow... -- _- .
Anyway, enough talk, problem solved. And now i will never have the same problem in the future. Thanks Nomad!!
