Figure it out yourself--- First you gotta know the open string notes E,A,D,G,B,e (for standard tuning). Then you go up each string saying each note. Its 2 frets between each note except between B and C and E and F
where its one fret between them.
First string would be like this.
0--1--3--5--7--8--10--12
E--F--G--A--B--C--D---E
Figure out the rest of the strings by yourself.
Its good to learn it like this so it will stick in your head.

Theory and crapp should never be used in the same sentence. It is pretty much crucial in knowing where and what to play when improvising and making up songs.

Very true. Each fret on a guitar will play a different tone and, in theory each fret will be one semitone higher than the previous fret. 12 semitones before you reach an octave interval, hence why the twelth freth is the same note as an open string. Learning some basic theory will make you a much better player, much faster because you can figure out a lot of stuff on your own. Even some rudimentery knowledge will make learning to play better a lot easier.
BTW, I am not trying to sound like a prick and say "fuck off, learn some theory", just suggesting that theory will help accelerate your learning.

Not really, we just learn tablature here
You can improvise and make up songs without theory, as long as it sounds good.

When tuned standard, the strings of the guitar are EADGBe and bass are EADG... the rest of the answer would be quite obvius...

It's not that obvious actually. Considering there is a pattern for naturals, and the enharmonics are either flat or sharp depending on acending or descending.
E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D D# E
B C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B
G G# A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G
D D# E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D
A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G G# A
E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D D# E
or...
E F Gb G Ab A Bb B C Db D Eb E
B C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab A Bb B
G Ab A Bb B C Db D Eb E F Gb G
D Eb E F Gb G Ab A Bb B C Db D
A Bb B C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab A
E F Gb G Ab A Bb B C Db D Eb E
The patterns obviously repeat after the 12th fret, enjoy.

you could do either...
try them out and see which one you like.
theres only 3 b notes on a standard 4 string bass any way
G: 4, 16
D:
A: 2
E:
all the rest are the same pitch as one of those 3
you could be really daring and get them to play a D or an F# or...... anything

I don't realy understand what your asking, but if a guitar plays a B by fretting the 2nd fret on the A string, the bassplayer could also fret a B at the A string 2nd fret, or on 7th fret on the E string, or the 9th fret on the D string etc.
It doesn't realy matter, because its all a B, en though their on a different octave, it wont sound wrong or disharmonic. Heck, you can even play a bass solo in B. Just remeber that it sounds boring if the bassplayer just plays the same thing as the rythm guitarist on one string.

Yeah, this is where theory comes into play. Go back and read those sites I gave to you, they will explain it better than this forum if you actually do the excercises.

you talk funny
but... you don't need to know jack shit about theory in order to play, knowing frets is just fine i guess if you're patient and tonedef....
but if you know theory, everything becomes a million times easier, because you'll already know alot of what notes can or will sound good together before you even pick up a guitar... otherwise you'll turn into one of those punk rocker kids that just moves his powerchord up and down the neck not even taking scales and intervals into consideration.
even just knowing the names of the notes for most of the frets helps. but other things like scales, intervals, rhythm.

But when you solo, you wouldn't know what key you're in so it will sound like shit. A guitarist who knows theory will always be better than one who doesn't. Overall, its just good to know theory.
