Cagematch
A radio station in upstate NY has a poll every week (or something like that) between several bands to see who is more liked in general. They call it the "Cagematch". I was wondering if you guys thought it would be a cool idea or not to do this on metaltabs.

The tones that they get are awesome, with the wood that is used, those SD pickups are some of the best, better than my EMG's I think. I love the mother-of pearl, and the deal with the guitar out of production just makes me want it more.  Sory for being so off-topic so soon.

I don't think it would be a good idea. There are already a few "Favorite Bands", "Best Album of the Year", "Best new artist" threads which you can get a good idea from. If we did, it would probably digress and erupt into a huge subjective brawl of why what sucks, but, whatever.

Hmmmm.....
It's been done before, on some other site, and as I remember it was for the best band of all time (or something similarly stewpid).
One vote per IP address, something topical - "best album of the year", "best new band", "best grindcore" etc. etc., expires in one month, open voting allowed (i.e. people who aren't registered for the forums...)....
What I mean is, that could work. Good publicity too, I suppose.

Ok, I will start a new thread -‘Official Cagematch Thread’. I will check this one regularly for suggestions, as I will be open to them. I will simply state ‘band 1 vs. band 2’ and people will just reply. After a few days/week I will tally up the votes and declare a winner. simple, right? Please don’t be afraid to send suggestions to THIS thread.

So will you be choosing which bands it will be every time? If so, wouldnt that get kind of dull? Unless you went through a lot of different styles of coarse. Yeah, just dont stick to one style, that way it can be more of a variation for each match. Like after the thrash match, have a black or death metal match. You know what i mean... and please,  dont exclude a viking metal match!!! |

get 4 bands instead of 2, to give it some variety, im sure you can get another couple of thrash greats to pit against Sodom and Kreator

But the first match is real mainevent !! Sodom vs Kreator !! Two really great Bands they worked together in the 80's !!!
