Does anybody own the album Unhallowed by Black Dahlia Murder? Im thinking of picking it up, i've only heard one song by these guys (apex) and i love the 2 vocalists, one high pitched screams, one low pitched growls.

If you own it or know anything about them I'd like to know if anybody else likes them.

Or just give your thoughts on them...

I have Unhollowed, it's a decent CD. There's actually only one singer, he does both high and low. One thing about this band that I don't like is their look. I heard them on the radio and it sounded great, got the CD, then saw the actual band, they look like little emo bitches. Personally for that, I wouldn't see them live (Yes I know, I'm superficial) but yeah, the CD is good.

I highly recomend this album. I heard it from a friend and bought it that night. I am a big fan of At the Gates and I can hear a strong ATG influence in The Black Dahlia Murder. Although it is more death-metal oriented. Also the lyrics are really top notch.

I think they are a bit black metalish too. I heard a decent amount and thought it was pretty good. I am a big fan of guitar leads, and i heard some good ones from them. But i always thought the band name was kind of dumb. When i saw the cd cover/band name, i thought they would suck, but theyre alright.

Dumb? Dude the black dahlia murder was fucking brutal and I dont think they ever solved it. Theres nothing wrong with looking like "Emo Bitches" it just makes it more appealing to other superficial people who are into bands for thier looks. Or would you rather them look like some goth fucking corpse paint faggots like Immortal.

But on topic...I think they have a really cool sound. A good example of a certain type of sound (like Dismember or At the Gates did) evolving, becoming heavier, faster. I think they've done a good job of it.

I criticize the way they look because it's fucking trend. Just like corpse paint, it FUCKIN TRENDY. Every one of those fucking "new" bands look fucking emo. For example: The Black Dahlia Murder, Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Bleeding Through...and the rest of those metalcore bands. It fuckin pisses me off because dumb motherfuckers every where I go are like "Oh, you're in a band? How come you don't paint your nails black? Why don't you dye your hair black? Why don't you shave that goatee and grow out some poofy emo sideburns?"...you know, shit like that pisses me off. What ever happened to the grisly, long haired, normal looking people? It's like they go out of their way to look sad, it's fucking stupid.
And who am I to criticize? I'll tell you who I am, THE FUCKIN CONSUMER. If I don't like a band because they look like faggots, it's OK because I have the right too. Besides, I didn't say they were a bad band, on the contrary, I reccomended the fucking CD.
