I had the doubleshot distortion. Didn't like it at all. Too muddy, not enough gain on both gain stages. The lower one I felt is useless. All mud. The upper one is the same as Dime Distortion, and it is nothing like dime. I sold my doubleshot. Didn't like it at all.
The EQ would be good. I have the MXR Six Band EQ (black). The 10 band just adds 2 frequencies lower and 2 frequencies higher than the Six band. Which i feel aren't really neccessary frequencies. The Six band has the following frequency sliders:
100 Hz
200 Hz
400 Hz
800 Hz
1.6 Khz
3.2 Khz
The 10 band is kinda similar to that, but adds 31.25 Hz and 62.5 Hz in the low end. And 8 Khz and 16 Khz in the high end. To give yourself an idea of what frequencies these sound like, listen to one of your favorite songs in winamp and adjust the EQ settings on it. In winamp the sliders aren't exactly the same as what the eq's have, but they are close enough. I got the Six band over then 10 band for 2 reasons, price was cheaper and after messing with songs and moving the sliders in winamp i felt that i didn't need those 4 extra sliders. After 3.2 Khz it is just the very top end of your signal.
See if that helps out.
Oh yea, another difference between the 10 band and 6 band. The six band sliders go +18 and -18 decibels. Ten band sliders go +12 and -12 decibels.
