"Once Was There"
I wrote this way past my bedtime. Thanks for reading. Comment if you like.
"Once Was There"
I walk the path through the pines
To the place where stolen was my heart.
With pad and pen I push emotion into symbols
Of bright eyes and rain soaked faces.
I sat beside you by the fire in the snow
Huddled with no knowledge of the cold .
And now, alone I lift branches to hide.
Seat myself in my concealed home in the grove.
Tiny blue flowers of my childhood have sprung forth.
Dogs long gone howl mournful as ghosts
Guarding and protecting that which I've not seen.
I need a shroud of wool to guard and gather me
As the chill I'm beginning to feel.
My fingers pained and speared by the needles.
A drifting leaf brushes a kiss against my cheek
And I feel an uplifted draft.
My eyes lift but to nothing.
Skin of my face pulled towards earth.
Gravity begging me to join prone.
I'm too weak to fight it
As I lay down my pen and my pad
And gather myself , teared,
Shelterless, alone.
Still seeing the face of you.

I like it, and I'm not someone who is big on lyrics. But this story type lyric with metaphors always gets me.

Man, I get real sweaty after I wack my dong. Yeah, cause I headbang while I do, and I can't really "Jump" (haha ) like VanHalen in a dorm room, so I just walk back and forth....haha a couple days ago I was jumping up and down on my bed, with my pants down and my roommate came in when I wasn't looking, hahaha.
