when did they changed their sound to something, dare i say, less heavier?

I'd say they changed twice. Once when they went into whoracle. I didnt like the change much but it wasnt too bad. The Reroute to Remain came and The shit came out of the asshole and they started to blow more cock than a 50 cent whore.

Yeah, I was hoping that In Flames would redeem themselves with this album, but of course they didn't.

after listening carefully to this i must say, it's pathetic when compared to their older efforts but it's still way above your typical nu-metal album.
they sometimes bust those melodic riffs they used to have.
i'll give it a 4 out of 10.

Colony and clayman were still great albums. Reroute was 50% shit, and this new one sounds 100% dogshit...

I just bought it and I am not impressed. The first song is pretty good. The second sounds like a mixture of In Flames Korn and Stinkin Fart (Linkin Park). The rest is ok but I wish they would at least go back to the Clayman sound. I thought Passenger would be an outlet for Anders to get all of that mainstream shit out of his system. And Jesper is wasting good riffs on Dimenson Zero. But I do like Dimension Zero but the new one sucks.

Oh I forgot to ask you guys about something. Is that Sharon Osbourne on the opening track F(r)iend? It is right at the beginning. It sure sounds like her.

That is not what I was trying to say. I have talked to several women with British accents and they did not sound like her.

Y'all too harsh.
This is definitely something of a redemption from R2R (which was pretty fucking boring), but not a huge one. Certainly a step in the right direction. It's got both good and miserable moments.
Reviews I've read have been mixed, and for good reason, there's a lot of stuff that just isn't In Flames as we remember it. More's the pity.
But most of the reviews riding it for being an unholy pile of crap were from tr00 H4rDKoR3 faggots cockwrenching fucktards who were probably sharpening their "sux goat choad" comments the moment they heard it would be released.

After listening to it, I have to say that it really didn't suprise me. You could tell from the last album that they were heading in this direction. Which is fine, (for them) this is what they want. You can't blame them for wanting to be Creed. That's where the money is. After doing this for so long, and not making hardly any money, you have to make the choice. Play what the 13 year olds want to hear, or stick true to your "style," if you must.
All in all, I think the album is crap, and not what I would listen to, but hey. That's just one guy's opinion.

I listened to the album a few more times before writing if off as good or bad. It does have some good songs on there. They took more than one or two sittings for them to really grow on me. But soon enough, they did. I do like it better than R2R. That album was boring.
