Yeah, if Ajax can hold onto all their young players for a couple more seasons they might have a team that can win the Champion's League again. Europe is getting more competitive again so I think Ajax have definitely got a chance next year. Look at the last 4 of the Champion's League this year: Monaco, Porto, Chelsea and Deportivo. The favourites like Milan, Juve, Real, Man Utd, Arsenal and Bayern all got knocked out early by teams they probably should have beaten. It's good that someone other than Real will be winning it this year.

Anyway, we had the last round of Premiership games this weekend and Arsenal have done the unthinkable. Remaining unbeaten for an entire season is an amazing achievement and I can't help but stand by in awe at the best footballing team that I have ever seen. Even as a Liverpool fan I have to admire them. If Liverpool don't win the CL next season then I hope Arsenal do as this team deserves to go down in history as one of the finest to have ever played the game.

I like watching Valencia and Barcelona, more Valencia because they seem to play almost like an English team. Valencia have great players in Baraja, Albelda and Ayala but Aimar is fantastic. I reckon if they had a world class striker they would be pretty much unbeatable in Spain.

I think Porto deserved their win, but I was disappointed in Monaco. Monaco where a little unlucky when Guily had to go off injured but their star players didn't perform well at all. Morientes was ineffective but I was most disappointed with Rothen as he hardly got into the game. There were quite a few suspect offsides for Monaco though so I guess they didn't have luck on their side for most of the game.

Porto are a good side but it will be interesting to see how they cope once Mourinho has gone and whether they can hold onto their star players like Deco, Paulo Ferraira, Costinha, etc for next season.

Greece played really well and deserved their victory. Considering Portugal possess some of the most skillful players in the competition, the final ball or shot was very disappointing.

Spain played some good footabll but probably should have scored more than one goal. Raul and Morientes looked very dangerous up front and Exteberria had a good game in midfield. They look a good side and I'd fancy them to beat Portugal in the big head-to-head of the group.

When Beckham missed the penalty, we got pissed off, he could have decided the game right there, it would have ended in 2-0 for sure... (the guy who lured out the penalty played a really great game though, wonderfull typical English soccer player, balsy and courageous)

then Zidane's free kick, like he allways takes them, down low in the corner instead of straight up. I don't know why the goalie didn't expect it, but I think the wall wasn't in the right position and he couldn't see where it was heading.

meh, the penalty was just a major fuck up, but you know Zidane doesn't miss penalty's that often... though the english goalie did really well in the rest of the game, so did King, that short defender.

in the midfield the French where much better, though they weren't able to cope with the English playing style (what's a midfield) I didn't expect to have such an enterainting match.

anyways, sorry for the English, they didn't deserve to lose, I hope they do get further in the tournament because they've shown some pretty darn good soccer at some points, tough luck though, the French pulled a Rudi Voller on you guys
