"Floralpeace"
And no, that spelling is intentional. It came about a bit by accident, but I liked it so I kept it. This is more just a poem. Thanks as always for reading.
" Floralpeace "
I looked out of my kitchen window this morning
And watched the rain beading down the glass.
I took a sip of coffee
And noticed the crown vetch beginning to glow
Even though the morning light was dim.
Soon the patch of violets, a gift from a deceased friend,
Would be twinkling purples and whites to me.
And the prinkly pears would compete with dandelions
Calling for the welder's gloves and tongs to let them breathe.
My life is much like my flowerbed.
Sometimes I feel the glow of love
Warming into my spring soul.
The tiny flowers as sixteenth notes
And the spray of a climbing rose, a trill.
But the trill is thorned sometimes
Just like my red rose and I'm scarred with painful memories.
My heart can break.
And I'll hope to lie on soft lady's mantle to heal.
Yet I get healing strength from inside.
Determined to never forget where those scars came from.
Stems grow from the tissue grafted
Turning scars into new blossoms from my soul.
My withered fingers watered with words
Stretching to feel the sunlight I begin to absorb.
Dying isn't even a part of the question.
I'd forget should that happen and I won't
Because the summer, I feel, will come.
I leave the window's view to sit by a new window.
One that opens even in the rain.
And my own rain fuels each line, each thought
Attempting to quiet a misplaced center inside.
I think of when I'll be outside pulling weeds
And thinning and transplanting.
I'll look to the ground, brush against a stem.
A rosepetal will fall to the earth
And in turn a tear.
BJH

the imagery was amazing...
eh, you started to "spring"(haha) into a nice musical tune, then you left to the"scars," and never went back to the spring song...I didn't quite like that . ahhh, it was good though.

picky, picky, picky !!....
Thanks ! The setting was a spring morning that looked ahead into early summer when the roses are blooming. When I got to the last verse, I left the house's window and sat at the new window opened which is actually the pc window. The second reference --my own rain-- is sad tears inside. And the weeding and all that is something I not only do in my garden but in my writing as well. I've done quite a few pieces with roses in them and some are very symbolic so even out there I think of people and poetry and it brings about emotions. But that actually does revert to spring and the present time again.

Re:
Heyy I liked this. I love especially how this whole thing grows into its final stages, it doesn't just appear, you can feel the swelling of the story you tell in each stanza as it feeds off itself more and more. There weren't really any errors or anything i didn't enjoy enough to write down, and if there were ones that I noticed, they were so minimal that i've already forgotten them, i just like the main message here.
I also like the imagery in it and how all the imagery reflects off itsself, like in the end how the symbolism reflects the beginning, middle and end all from a higher standpoint. This was really cool. If you dont mind me asking, what was your motivation to write this?

Good flow. Good Imagery detail. Just for the concepts of you being able
to distinguish whats going on outside is pretty good.
Though flowers ain't my kind of subject, overall, this is still a good tune.

I've done quite a few 'floral ' pieces and this was inspired and written from what I saw out the window and also experiences there as well as life experiences.
When I write something like this I like to hear that a non -gardener can get something out of it. And I also like the idea that it wraps around from beginning to end. I'm glad that worked here.
My inspiration was exactly this ---
"I looked out of my kitchen window this morning
And watched the rain beading down the glass.
I took a sip of coffee
And noticed the crown vetch beginning to glow "
Crown vetch is a low growing silver and green leaved plant that gets purple or white flowers in it later in the year. It's viney and I have it growing as a groundcover under a burning bush to brighten things up around there. I think I counted about 150 plants in my yard, flower, vine, and herbwise so I have quite a variety.
I 'm glad you all liked it. Thanks.

I'd like to see more of the floral pieces, im interested. Im not a big flowerguy, but that doesn't mean I dont want to be. Hell one of my favorite albums of all time is Orchid, lol but I guess that doesn't count.
