Too many black metal bands (underground or no) sound the same nowdays. Some strive to seem cool, others are just too much like posers. There a still a few strong scences out there though.
To add to the list:
Nuclear Winter (aussie band who released but one LP. I don't have much to compare the music too. Possibly Sargeist or Transilvanian Hunger?)
Vrolok (underground band from Pennsylvania. very out-there; morbid and atmospheric)
Black Dawn (though they have an LP with rediculous cover art, their music is at a higher standed than any other fast paced BM band in the region. finnish, I think they are)

Transilvanian Hunger is the name of an album by Darkthrone. Sargeist is good though. |

I would say Darkthrone is underground allthough they are quite commonly known.
