Megadeth is my favorite band, but they went downhill starting with Countdown to Extinction. It was an ok album but it was a huge departure from their old sound and marked their transition to a just another 80's sellout band
I think some of the more obvious nominations of this thread are Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, and In Flames. Their old stuff was brilliant, but they all suck donkey dick nowadays, unfortunately :/

I find both "Deliverence" and "Damnation" by Opeth to be trash.

Oh man, awesome thread. Got alot to say about alot of bands.
Celtic Frost - what the FUCK was 'Cold Lake' and why does every CF album suck after it? [Okay, 'Vanity Nemesis' was alright, but hey!]
Everything Arcturus is doing after Garm left sucks as well.
Satyricon was awesome up until 'Volcano'; the new album is the laziest record ever made. Man did they go downhill.
I hate Dimmu Borgir after their original keyboardist left, I don't listen to anything after 'Enthroned Darkness Trimphant' at all.
I dislike Kreator in their 90's era. 'Renewal' and 'Cause For Conflict' were decent, but then when Mille was trying to be a goth-rock star I was like 'wtf, another brilliant band destroyed.' Good thing 'Violent Revolution' came out.
All 90's Rush sucks. 'Test For Echo' was the best record of that era. But fuck, after like 20 + years of straight flawless albums they fucked it up BAD with 'Roll The Bones.'
As much as I love them I have to say that 'Whisper Supremacy'-era Cryptopsy just doesn't do it for me, and I still listen to it alot just to try and like it. Nope. 'And Then You'll Beg' is like the only album I dig out of the DiSalvo-era.
I can't do this thread without mentioning Swedish melodic death. 'Mind's I', anyone? 'Lunar Strain/Jester Race'? Hell, those were the DAYS.
Moe, I barely ever touch Prometheus, I dig IX Equilibrium though, Prometheus has its moments but definetly doesn't beg for replaying like the eariler stuff.
I can't stand anything My Dying Bride did after 'Light At The End Of The World' and I have no idea why.
ATROCITY - Why why WHY did they totally fuck up after the brilliant 'Longing For Death' album and turn into a vampire loving goth metal band??
Tiamat - Wildhoney, masterpiece. Deeper Kind Of Slumber, = 'Dark Side Of The Moon' for underground metal. Skeleton Skeletron killed it. For a band that's been around for like 20 years almost I cannot believe they only put out 2 incredible albums that sound nothing like anything they ever did.
Anathema - YOU GUYS ARE NOT RADIOHEAD, STOP.
Thought Industry - see above.
Katatonia - anything after 1999 just doesn't exist for me regarding them.
Samael - hahahahahahaha... wow.
Sepultura - I don't even have to tell you do I?
Paradise Lost - ok, I could tolerate 'One Second' because it had good songwriting. But then...
The Kovenant - christ do they SUCK now.
Rotting Christ - I could tolerate 'Khronos' but fuck did they ever pull an Atrocity-style genre switch.
Summoning weren't so great in their early days and I'm glad they went epic.
Entombed, shit, how could I forget. Needs no introduction.
Newer Voivod and Testament I just don't dig...
...and that's about all I can think of now.

Whoa. I actually totally disagree with that. I liked their early thrashy sound more than the new stuff. The new stuff is good, dont get me wrong, but it doesnt appeal to me like their old stuff. The Beast was crap though :/

I definitely agree.
The Haunted's last two albums, it's a damn shame what they turned into.
Shade Empire's "Intoxicate O.S"

Anthrax in the mid 90's until right about...
now.
Annihilator for most of their career, despite the earlies and newest albums being good.
Fates Warning after Awaken the Gaurdian.
Danzig after 4, until Circle...

I think deliverance is amazing. I can see why people wouldn't like ghost reveries but i still really like that album.
