It costs 1320 euros, and Dariusz started making it in the first week of December, so that's 7-8 months!

holy shit! thats a long time haha, how were you able to get MOP? and did you send him a pic of what you wanted the logo to look like, or did you just tell him what font? What made it cost so much more? was it the mop and the flamed top?

ive got a bit of a question here.... im right on the cross roads when it comes to my next guitar purchase. i have about 800$ now and could probably sell my parker for around 400-500. my ideal guitar would ahve the following, neck thru, emg 81s, neck thru and 24 frets. i could get a dv-8 for about 800 and that would be ok, but is that going to be dissapointing? should i keep saving and get a ran for around 1500? i already filled out a custum order form and im looking at around 1500 for everything..case shipping etc. is a ran rhoads going to miles ahead of a dv-8 ? should i just save myself 700-800 and get a dv8 or what? im asking because i respect your opinions so dont just toss this question around lightly, thats a hell of a lot of money to spend.

I just told him I wanted the logo in Old English font. I guess the reason it cost so much was the massive amount of MOP used (obviously those crosses use up a lot). The maple top was free!

How was I able to get MOP? Erm, I just asked for it!

Yeah, there was a mix up with the design. I originally wanted it matt black with a maple top, to have the top for the tone, but Dariusz thought I made a mistake. When I changed the finish to see through green, I explained the error to him, so I got the top for free, and that's what made the building time longer than usual.

That's a very nice axe! How much is it costing you? Never really liked that shape, but the finish is very nice, much like the one I'll have on my Thunder when I have enough for a Ran.

He got a discount probably cause he was one of the first US customers, and they used DHL back then, now the use UPS. He also had to go through a bunch of shit with customs about the woods and what not. But no UPS just takes them through customs, then slaps a 180 dollar COD on the thing and you have to write a check or give the UPS guy a cashiers check when he comes to your door. I would call UPS when they ship it and find how out how much taxes will be and make sure you have a cashiers check ready for them.

Metaltabs.com must make a few customers for Ran guitars, they get such a fuckin good review on here.

Its changed my mind from saving for a strat or les paul and gettin me a Ran.

I didn't know I got a discount at first either. I think there was a misunderstanding with DHL and Ran and I ended up with a deal or something. I was the first US custom order it seems and US Customs office had it out for me anyway. It took me a month to get the guitar through Customs and DHL didn't do shit to help. After it was all said and done DHL even delieved the guitar to the wrong house

I informed Dariusz about what DHL had done and he decided it was best to never use them again. Besides, I also learned DHL had been having Ran guitars stolen while in route through France.

Ran no longer uses DHL, guitars are no longer getting stuck in Customs for a month, guitars are not being stolen anymore, but you will still have to pay a US Customs ransom fee once it gets to the US.

Dariusz makes up for his weakness in the English language with his insane craftmanship. The beat up Ran V that Krisiun were using at a show I went to still looked sturdy and sounded awesome.

Yeah, these things are players. Mine is still in perfect flawless condition. Even the finish on Rans are made to last. Solid as a tank but it doesn't weigh a lot either.

mine is pretty heavy for a soloist type body, ofcourse it's one piece and mahogany... it sustains like a motherfucker, haha. the finish on it is definetly way better then found on ibanez's for example (they chip easily)

How do you submit the email for pricing on the Ran guitars site? I clicked submit and it poped up with an email page adressed to them, but didnt have any of the specs in it.

no, he has a problem with the actual submitting of a price.i had ap roblem with it recently, i filled it all out and the submit button did nothing. but its working now. what usually happens is it checks and uses outloko express becasue it thinks that is the default email program. copy the stats out of the email and use whatever other email prog you use. what can i say, his submit price thing is glitchy

Anyways since I have prolly the largest Ran customer base in front of me, I just wanted to ask if anyone of you ever had any kinds of "contract issues" with Dariusz. Not that I wouldn't trust him but it's a lot of money and I'm a bit of a scarecrow. I mean what if there's an accident or something after you sent the money, which leads to a situation that won't let you get your custom, for example.

That might be the dumbest question in the history of dumb questions, but it's exactly what you get, when someone with a tight budget stumbles upon good priced custom guitars.

Everything is smooth. From what ive heard, nothing wrong has happened. There is shipping insurance as far as I know. And all the banks should have money and wire transfer insurance and what not. Hope that helped.

Though, to be honest, I probably would have ordered that axe regardless. I just would have felt lousy. But actually I'm excited that much, it hurts. An I'm still waiting for the price quote.

I was the first US custom shop customer and I was plenty worried at first as I had never know anyone but some bands from Poland to own a Ran. I had to trust that Ran were honest when I ordered mine, then mailed a rare Kahler bridge to them, then bank wired money to their account. They could have sent me nothing and I would have had a hard time doing much about it, but Ran is a legitimate guitar company, though small and not very well known yet, they are honest and build some of the best guitars I have ever seen. If it had not been for the internet I would have never stumbled across them in the first place. Ran guitars is very fast growing company and are expanding their options every week. The last year has been crazy for them. They have got so many more orders then normal. I expect great things from Ran in the future.

I got just what I had asked for from Ran and for a great price. It took them 3 months to build it but that is light speed for a custom guitar. If I had more money I would put shock in Ran guitars.

My Ran came today!! It's the sweetest guitar I've ever played. Amazing. The neck is so fast.. Sweet. It's so damn beautiful and amazing!
