I can answer some of your questions because I have a Ran V.
The body and my headstock are the same size as a Jackson V with maybe a mm or 2 difference. I didn't get mine with bevels so it actually looks like a breed between a Jackson and a B.C. Rich. I do have a Jackson headstock though. I have all my pics posted here in a link so check them out.
The neck does get thicker once it gets to the body, or at least it does on the neck-thou built ones. It is not problem for me to play but some people might want a heel-less constructed neck.
Finally, they have tons of sustain, play very smooth, and are actually very well balanced compared to other V's. It doesn't want to nose drive like others I've had and played.
Of course, I can only speak for the Ran neck-thou made V's. |

Am going to order a 7 string in the next few weeks too, either ESP Horizion or JAckson Soloist shape, see thru black top on either flame or quilted maple with white binding and black back, ebony board with no inlays, TOM/STB with reverse esp headstock with white neck and headstock binding and 1 EMG 707 and 1 volume.

sweet choice dude, but trust me, go for an emg 81/7 instead of a 707 its a much better pickup. the 707 is pretty muddy
nice choice with the quilted maple top, theyre sooooo sweet, make sure you remind the to use highly figured quilted maple

The day I order mine, it'll be either a V(and the only V I'll ever purchase if I do) or a Thunder, because BC Rich Ironbirds are rare and suck.
The prices are just amazing. If it weren't for the shipping, I'd be paying about $200 more than the ESP I'm about to buy. But I guess I need to start out on something. :P

They are not but many DM bands that demanded the quaility of a handmade guitar without the crazy, stupid, and greatly inflated price and wait time, will get the under ground company like Ran to make them a great guitar.

The problem is that a week ago I order a guitar, just to know how It would cost (a BC rich stealth Shape, Emg-81 in bridge...) but i have no response and the page doesn't work, that's a problem because if ran spain close for "out of business" i'll have to order it to poland and the guitar would be more expensive becuase the shipping, so i want to know if they are still working, if they do, i can afford much money and time

All the basic shapes are listed with a pic on the web site. You can even get a different headstock of another shape or just make your own if you want.

Last night I touched a Ran. How? Well, I was watching Krisiun play live last night along with Hate Eternal and Incantation, and the guitarist stretched his Ran V over the crowd for everyone to bang on the strings. :P It looked beat up like hell, lots of scratches, dents and nicks, and it was missing a neck pickup so it just had an EMG-81 I figure, but it sure sounded kick-ass with their Mesa Boogies. His axe felt sturdy as fuck, depsite being all beat up. Kick-ass show.
