That is one seriously hot guitar! Did you have to specify those rectangular fret markers along the side of the neck? They're so much cooler than the usual dots you get
Seriously Def, it looks fantastic. I'd love to own a guitar like that

I don't know what to say, Def!
It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my whole life You should be very proud to have been part of it's birth into this world. It is you who designed it. Big D delieved the dream, but it's whole creation started with you, Def. Great job bro! You have helped give the world one of the most beautiful guitars ever made.
That has to be one of, if not the greatest looking guitar ever made by Ran. I know it had to be the highest priced Ran ever made so far, but it has to be worth far more then what you payed though. I bet that thing would out price a PRS it the US.
May the Metal Gods bless and keep Dariusz.

I know you would
I like the look of string thru's too but I prefer the playability of the Les Paul style bridges, so I went for that, plus it's more original then a string through, that's so jackson soloist

thanks man! it definetly turned out just like I wanted it too, D did a great job in making my dream guitar
it's definetly a looker and for sure a one off, who the hell would be crazy enough to mix a kramer stagemaster with a jackson soloist and a gibson les paul? and then mix it with some emg's and pimp hardware?

The only reason ran does it is because they offer good woods and meterials with your favorite shape at a low cost completley custom, no having to deal with shitty overseas (or asian) mass manufacturing.

I could show you a thousand more copy's to, look at the strat, its like the most widley copied shape ever. Bitch about that.
Second, and no YOU shouldnt call them great guitars, casue YOU havnt played them.
Third, they do have there own original shape, it just disapeared probably cause no one bought it cause everyone wants the "metal' shapes, which is fine.
And yes if you feel that the last thing your going to do is "buy this shit whatever cheap it is" then go ahead...
Dont judge a book by its cover you ignorant fuck, try one before you can trash it, then i might respect your opinions.

You can kiss my ass, pal
I dont give a f... about this crap you told.
If i want a Les Poul I will get Gibson and not a ESP eclipse. If I want a Warlock I get BCrich and thats it. Very simple. And not a polish shit with stupid looking logo. What about sound or stuff? Well the EMGs speeks for its selves. Put them on whatever guitar and its gona be good enought.

You are in the wrong place to be talking badly about Ran guitars. These are very fine made guitars. Hand made customs. CUSTOMS made by a great luther, not stock machine made shit.

5. Its not a polish shit, its a Polish guitar.
6. OMG LOGO IS STUPIDZ OMGZZZ CANT GET GEETAR EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN CHANGE IT CAUZ IT BE KUSTOM.
7. "What about sound AND stuff?" .....?
8. EMG's speak for themselves? ...K
9. If you dont like EMGS then dont get them in the guitar fucktard.
There you go talkin shit on guitars you havnt even tried. Have you seen defs guitar or mine or Soulinsanes, there pretty fuckin incredible and are not sold in stores "pal". Id like to see you find a satin black RR with 24 frets made from good wood neck-thru with a nice paintjob these days. Or a nice V with a kahler, or Defs one of a kind insane custom, all for under 2000 dollars.

lol, yeah mine came with all black hardware, but the switch was crome too I just got a new black one and replaced it. Easy. Big D must not have access to switches that come in other colors. In fact the only place I could find a all black switch was at Carvin.com. Crome and gold are easy to find though for some reason.

It should be a rule here that if you do not take pics of your Ran and are a Metaltabs member that you should be banned.

i'd play it Till my hands where so fucked up from constant exertion that the doctor would have to amputate them. Then in a fit of passion i would try and play it with my cock. You know what the doctor would take next.

I don't know what Dariusz uses on the finish, but it is some tough stuff. Mine doesn't have a scratch yet and I play it everyday. It is like these guitars are enchanted or something.
Has anyone else got a scratch yet?

btw, i think that rans and other customs are hard to scratch because they have a custom finish, where as factory finished guitar are more likely to scratch easily because they have a crappier quality finish
well thats what i think... :S

I think you might be right. The finish on my Ran is very durable. Not even a dot of damage. I have bumped it a few times and thought that it was going to leave some indication, but nothing. Not even strap burn even after nearly a year of playing it.
I know most guitars have a laquer finish but Big D said he uses polyurethane. I always thought laquer was the hardest finest you could get but I think Big D knows something we don't about finishes.

Most use polyurethane, Laquer tends to crack after 50 or so years, thats why old Les Pauls are all cracked.
polyurethane is tough shit.

The only thing I am not crazy about is the action on these Rans, I hear that they don't go any lower than 1/16 inch (without alot of fret buzz), is this true?

I don't think that can be true, it's all a matter of who's setting it up. I've got my RG super low and I set that one up myself, I'll set up my Ran exactly like it and I'll get back to you on that. it's a matter of fine tuning the bridge, truss rod and the saddles...

true but keep in mind most people get Ran's with jumbo frets... bound to cause fret buzz. I got mine with medium frets just like my rg has, it's got really low action and plays like running a hot knife through butter.

my Ran was delivered today
I've allready took her to band practise too, I love it! it's definetly the best thing I could have bought for 1200 euros!!!!
Finish looks awesome, it plays great too, you can definetly tell it's handmade, the frets seem to have been given a special treathment, way more smooth and lighter to play.
The action on it was allready low but I lowered it a bit more, MTM, I don't know where you heard the story about the action but on my guitar, it's not true. mine's got super-low action now and no fret buzz at all... keep in mind mine does not have a floyd or jumbo frets, maybe those can cause problems, I don't know..
It sustains like a crazy mofo too, it's got like twice the sustain of my RG750, everything rings through, sustains like a les paul but weights the same as an ibanez s series, it's super light. I'll take some pics tomorrow of both my guitars next to each other!
I've been playing her allmost constantly since I got her through the mail packed in 5 layers of bubblewrap, it was well protected, even the inside of the case had loads of bubble wrap, it was all taken care off, Ran does a goob job in packing these things!!
Anyways, fuck it, I'm off to play some more

The S shape with a decent thickness and a more visually pleasing pickup selector. Hopefully I'll have half by the end of June.

The S shape with a decent thickness and a more visually pleasing pickup selector. Hopefully I'll have half by the end of June.

I want to see that guitar when its finished. I like the ibanez S neck a lot.Plus its very light.

Def that is an awesome looking Ran it kicks serious ass...
I really like that custom amde Logo, I may ask big d to give the same to mine, what are your opinions on the fret's, tbh I dont have taht a low action on my guitars but the fret's have never really affected my playing tbh.
Is it worth getting medium's, if it's not too late, allthough I can't se me having an action that will be super duper low.

when you use the whammy bar you either pull up on the string or let them sag to noodles, this severly fuckes with the tunning of them the locking nut makes it so they dont move past the poin to the nut and there for will stay in tune

the roller nuts? i would imagine so when tuning your string doesnt catch the nut and get stuck, and then snap out of the stuckness and get detuned again, I dunno how to explain it.

Why would you have locking tuners when using a Floyd?

i said locking /tuners/ not /nut/. sorry for the misunderstanding... i have a locking nut on my current guitar... i know what it does
the reason i asked is i see all these people with locking tuners on guitars with fixed bridges... what the point?

because shit goes of of tune on fixed bridges still just because the tuners will slowley turn, and some people use locking tuners on trems, like my freinds dads PRS has locking tuners that came with it.
