Well, it's not really just the guitar itself. It's the good deal that they give w/ the prices for a custom guitar w/ almost anything you want on it. Too bad they're all the way out in Poland.

This reminded me when I was watching a COB video and Roope Latvala was playing his Jackson custom RR V that's very similar to h4x5k8's. To think that ordering a custom Jackson one w/ those specs. and being charged like $3,500 dollars is ridiculous.
Roope's:

If I ever get a Ran, that's what I'll be doing. I was fooling around at school ages ago, and I drew this body shape, looks a bit like a V, which I thought was rather awesome. I've never seen a guitar with the bodyshape I drew, so it'd be pretty cool to have it. Boy do I want a Ran! Screw buying a car!

That's cool, what inlays are you getting? Are you getting them MOP or some other material? Strange, Ran's are completely custom built, he doesn't usually charge extra for custom bits unless they are some kind of special material.

Iommi crosses are customs, I'm saying that they only cost me 20 euros more than sharkfins, which is probably due to the fact they require around the same amount of MOP. Heh, I'm drinking Polish beer now in honour of my Ran!

Id do it again in a heartbeat, the only think i would really think over is making sure everything i want on the guitar is on there before i make the final order make sure everything is perfect, cause on the one i just ordered during that 4 month wait i decided i wanted a neck pup, and now i regret it.

I actually did order a second one directly after my first arrived.
And I ordered one more for my bandcollegue.
And if I would need more guitars I would instantly order more Rans.

Finally got my Ran and I have to say the quality of it is absolutely superb, really excellent for the price you pay. Sounds awesome too through my Engl
Piccy's are here
However, the guitar arrived slightly damaged as the sender didn't pack it properly. As there was no bubble wrap around the neck there are 2 dents in the lacquer on the bottom edge of the fretboard at the 3rd and 5th frets. This was caused by the neck banging into one of the case lock hinges during transit. Also, I'm not really liking the Explorer shape as much as I thought I would (prefer strat body shapes but thought I'd try something diferent).
So, I've decided to sell it. It is mint apart from the above damage and all the hardware is 100%. It is all mahogany with dual EMG 81 humbuckers, rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, Schaller straploks and Sperzel locking tuners. Case is included and it comes with a strap with Schaller straplok ends fitted (which are great).
As the damage is in the lacquer, if you knew how to you could sand off the lacquer from the rosewood fretboard sides and it would be perfect. As it is you can't feel the damage when sliding hand along the neck so it doesn't affect playing at all.
I'd be looking for about Ł450 for this (but I'll consider offers) and it is a bargain considering the quality and level of kit you get. The guitar is stunning quality as all you other Ran owners know so here is a chance to own a handbuilt, custom Ran for a good price.
I have perfect Ebay feedback and from other forums that can be provided on asking.
Mods, if there is a problem with posting this please let me know as I couldn't see a 'no for sale posts' sticky and I just wanted to give somebody a chance to own a genuine Ran. Thankyou.

Man, it's a real shame you're selling i. Tis a really beautiful guitar. Do you really dislike the shape so much? It'll grow on you, and you might regret selling it later on!
The "Ran" on the headstock is really cool, and I like how he added "custom" - it adds an extra touch of elegance.
I've asked the headstock logo on my Ran to be in Old English font, it'll look sweet!
I'm still deciding whether to get neck/headstock binding on my Ran, I'm not sure how white binding will look with see-thru purple. So far the hardware's going to be chrome, but I'm thinking whether gold or black would look even better.
Btw: Dariusz said they're finishing off the woods for my guitar, so I can make quite a few last minute changes.

thats a shame sniffles, you probably should have tried the explorer before you bought one, cause they are a very large guitar and hard to deal with sometimes. But thats to bad about the dents, stupid shipping companies need to be a litle more careful.

Shame you are selling that nice ass Ran. If I could buy it I would, but I would want it with black HW. Guitars never stay perfect, and it is the first blemish in a new guitars finish that is the hardest to accept. BTW the Soulinsane Custom is still perfect, thank God. After that you are not afraid to play it away from home. I would concider it a favor that it came a little battle scared so you don't have to hate yourself later for dinging it. Gloss finishes are the hardest to protect imo, but it is the way Ran's play that have sold me for life. The neck is actually thiner than a Ibenez. Nice, flat, and fast. If the guitar doesn't look perfect then that doesn't mean that it will sound bad. I perfer guitars with scars. That just means they do a good job

...i guess i shoud be more specific
he took off all the shit then beat the hell out of it with the drill, scaring it up and making huge holes and slashes in the wood and shit, then he painted it a slime green with the slashes still being black or whatever it looked cool in the end

Thanks for all the replies guys. I bought the guitar second hand, only a few months old. The seller didn't pack it properly. It wasn't until last week that I saw H4x's pics of how his was packed. By then it was too late as the guitar was already sent.
Soulinsane, the hardware is actually black although it looks silver in the pics.

After that you are not afraid to play it away from home. I would concider it a favor that it came a little battle scared so you don't have to hate yourself later for dinging it. If the guitar doesn't look perfect then that doesn't mean that it will sound bad. I perfer guitars with scars. That just means they do a good job

It's that white EXP, and is not comfortable for him I think, it's always a good idea to try guitar shapes out before you get a copy, there would be minor differences, but the shape woul be the same.
going to put me deposit down now w00000000000000000000ttttttttt

Ozzuk is right bestial the shape isn't for me. It's a right shame as the quality of the guitar is incredible. A strat shaped RAN would be better for me
Good luck Ozz you'll love it when you finally get yours

Blizard, I'm from Guildford.
Big D has received my payment for my second ran so that's going to get started soon. As for my Invader, the body is done and the neck is nearly ready, they will be starting the finishing process in 2-3 weeks.

I've seen it Nice, but I think you will like Ran better. For the love of God I love Rans. Mine has yet to disapoint me. We will be together for ever and ever and ever. I will be cremated with it.... but you all can fight over the Kahler. That will never burn up. Need a liquid hot magma for that lol.

Excellent stuff Ozzuk, what kinda Ran you getting? Please don't tell me it's a another V.
I need some advice, how do you guys think white binding would look on my guitar (transculent purple throughout)? I'm not really sure, but I think it would offset the MOP crosses on it, and look pretty cool. Hm.... Perhaps black binding?

these jumbo frets arnt doing me justice, jumbo frets with a thin neck make it feel to metallic, it just feels all clanky and metallic when the strings are hitting the frets.

I hope so!
I took medium frets on my Ran. I don't really like jumbo and extra jumbo frets, it kinda feels like I loose touch with the fretboard or something, especially when playing up the higher frets.

god damnit, this is fuckin gay, i was talkin to my guitar teacher about routing a neck pickup in there, he said i shouldnt cause then i would just end up changing somthing else that i didnt like, and then keep on doing that and the guitar would end up not being a ran custom anymore it would just be some modified piece of junk, i wish i would have known what jumbo frets were and known that in four months i would start liking neck pickups.

Meh, if you play that Ran everyday like you should, you'll probably get used to it. I dunno, but if you do that you probably won't mind those extra jumbo frets in time.
Edit: I prefer the feel of my mexican strat frets to my Ibanez (extra jumbo right?) - yeah I'll change my fret size to standard.
Yeah, standard frets feel alot smoother, kinda like butter across the fretboard. Extra-jumbo frets are like huge hills to me! Phew, another mishap avoided!

I'm getting 'standard' frets on my invader and medium on my explorer. Both guitars will have a neck hopefully as close to a '59 les paul as big D can get, I gave him all the specs for the neck, lets see what he can pull off!
ozz, congrats man! Did you pay half up front or the full wack?
